It just came to me - Singaporeans are not allowed to gamble - casinos are prohibited on their hotel & can get permanently banned for owning one

Whats going to happen with casinos?

I suspect they will carry on as normal but it's an interesting point

but the Singapore rules were based on their law seeing as gambling is prohibited over there.

something will work out... like everything else to do with this merger :P

Thats annoying, grabbers are same so if they banned them, that would spoil habbo. That's how you get rich :l

What he said ^

It was mentioned on a thread here not long ago. There is also the issue of mafias supposedly being banned on .com?? or something :S

I seriously doubt that Singaporeans will be allowed to gamble - like said before, the rules are based on the law and in Singapore you can only gamble if you are over 18 AND at verified companys, basically, its illegal for singaporeans to gamble on habbo by law.

I really don't know what will happen, I don't use casinos myself but if habbo removes them for everyone thats bang out of order, but I don't see singaporeans being alloewd to gamble. They're not even allowed to give out furni for luck games, where no skill is used..

In theory they should be made against the habbo way lol.. You have to be over 18 to gamble right?

In habbo you have to purchase credits to get furni. You then go and bet that furni with other people. In theory obviously this is still gambling *****. If someone was to go to a news company and something was to come from it? Imagine headlines such as... An example of the news thing would be that girl who went to news round that time lmao

'Teen world condones under-age gambling' lmao

idk but most users are under 18 so w/e

People should be allowed to gamble on a game as they please. If they loose all their HC's its just their own fault isn't it.

If the singaporeans arn't allowed to gamble, then they should be banned, but no-one else.

How will they know if they are Singaporeans?

They'll know which hotel they're from.. I agree.. It should be if they bet, they get perm banned if found out :)

What stopped Singaporian players joining the UK Hotel before?

Very sensible post. My guess is that when the hotels are merged as the hotel won't be based in Singapore/Asia then
the rules won't apply.

Im gonna sound rude now but i honestly dont mean to.

But seriously the merge hasnt happened yet so no-one knows 100% what is going to happen. If they ban casinos then what you gonna do sign an online petition to get them unbanned? I dont play habbo anymore but i keep getting people whining to me on msn like onoez imma have to change my acc name onoez etc etc, You cant make assumptions like this til they actually happen. And if it does happen its not the end of the world, if you dont like it just quit, Or get rich the way people used to by trading.

What they could do is that Habbo could order all casino and grabber owners to place their rooms in a special navigator category, then disable this category for any SG IP addresses?

My guess is that nothing will happen. Casinos will continue, i mean seriously maybe 100-200 people log in on SG each day (on a good day) compared with the other 15,000 that would continue to play after the merge happens, is tiny. If they really wanted to they could block the IP's but I see no need, they won't do this as its too much work. If the Singapore Government (or whatever) have a problem with it, they'll just block Habbo which they won't do, so nothings really going to change (atleast in my opinion).

Thats like saying "13 year olds are allowed to gamble their money but if they lose it all then it's their own fault"

it will probably be the end of casinos, I understand when someone said what stopped SG coming into UK hotel, but that was when there was a hotel where gambling was banned. For SG user are being merged with us, so when it comes to habbo they don't have other choices other than not to play.

Plus the merge is about bringing other cultures together and that means respecting other cultures!! This is why I believe casino will end, it don't matter if so many people want to gamble, casino will probably be banned. This is the same with mafias, where in US it means disrespect or something, its just that no one complains about that because there will be a lot of US members, but you should treat SG and other hotels the same no matter how many members there are.

This is just another thing Habbo will have forgotten about. In a couple of months time, they're gonna' find so much rubbish they overlooked and have to deal with it all at once.

At the end of the day, it's a couple of dice on an online game. It's not really hurting anyone.. :P
