View Full Version : Over 19000 posts and it doesn't have its own sub-forum?

The thread for all 'Flight Simulator' Discussion in the games forum is unarguably oversized. That one thread has more posts than the majority of other forums and is bigger than the call of duty and sony sub-forums put together.

I think this topic really does deserve its own subforum once again. If it's in a single thread simply because you don't want more than 4 sub-forums in a forum then why not merge it with the cod one and have a 'Call of Duty and Flight Simulator' one.

Here's the thread i'm talking about: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=374638

I've counted 5 main forums which have less posts than that one thread alone.

That thread is big because all posts and threads from the sub-forum were merged into one. There used to be a sub-forum for the game but activity for it declined.

It only died after being put into a single thread. it was done to save forum space and by doing that they killed the topic. People don't propperly get their posts seen on threads like that, nor can they start competitions etc or show off their work the way they want to.

It became inactive after the clean up and was only recently remembered. Its like the funny pictures thread etc, its just so long, complicated and tiring to keep up with.

That thread is still more active than other forums/sub-forums including the sony one. (since being restored)

Maybe it really isn't that popular, but like most games - they're talked about most around release dates or updates occurring.

Maybe instead of saying "All flight sim discussion in here" you should say "All previous flight sim discussions" and then still allow people to make new threads in the main forum. Right now it isn't very clear whether or not you're supposed to create new topics on flight sim within that thread. Locking the thread with a message at the beginning and end of it should do the trick

I think having one thread is ample really, I'm incredibly active on this forum and I must click "new posts" hundreds if not thousands of times per day and I can't honestly remember the last time I saw a large boost in activity in the flight-sim thread, and I'm usually one who reads that thread (not post) as I find the pictures and stuff quite interesting.

nvrspk4 and MattGarner merged the thread into one for a reason.

However, I am willing to consider (and discuss with Garion) the possibility of allowing other flight-sim threads to be made within that gaming forum. However it does not require a subforum as it is most certainly not as active as it used to be, and it must be remembered the subforum was removed due to inactivity.

I think other threads would be okay, as long as its not like "OMG I JUST LANDED AT LAX YO!!111111111"

KKK has 39407 posts at this moment in time, with an easy few hundred more if we still had the other threads around that we used to have. If that's not grounds for having a subforum (which I guess isn't as a standalone reason :P) then I'm sure 19k in a thread isn't either.

Perhaps after the merge it will gain more popularity, if the forum altogether gains more popularity that is.
