I've been (by a reliable family friend) told that Asus motherboards are unreliable.

So I need an ATX AM3 motherboard that's similar to the Asus M4A77TD Pro.

I CANNOT go over £70. This is my absolute limit.

ASUS are perfectly fine?? I've been using an ASUS P5K Premium WiFi-AP Black Pearl LGA775 (LOL) Motherboard for two years now, actually got it as a replacement for a DOA Gigabyte MoBo

This was my thought. I'd been recommended to use an Asus board by 2 other tech forums AND HxF. So I'm tempted to stick with it. I'm just a bit cautious about DOA bits and going over my budget. lol.

Go for it tbh, if any of it is DOA places like Ebuyer are pretty nice people to deal with :)

Best AM3 board for the money.

Less I/O ports, no apparant support for eSata, no Crossfire support. It's cheaper for a reason. Although I've had very good experience with MSI.

I'm sticking with the Asus.

Your friend is terribly wrong, Asus are the most reliable motherboard manufacturer behind Gigabyte. A fine choice staying with Asus.

I did wonder whether it was just his experience with Asus boards that was dodgy.

Anyway, when I get some money, I'll order the bits for my new computah :D
