Eating more healthily, cut down on chocolates, sweets and fizzy or sugary drinks.
Drink more water, dont drink as much alcohol, if you even drink.
A healthy active lifestyle usually gets rid of spots. :)
If you do go to the docs, when i had spots they give me something called "Zineryt" or something like that, it stinks of vinegar and basically you roll it onto your face and your pillow stinks in the morning.
Hope you get rid of them! :D

What the hell i deffinately replied to this :S

ANyway,

I usually break out after drinking alot.

However, according to the doctor the diet doesnt really affect it providing theres nothing major like you eat lots and lots of fatty greasy foods.

For tips i'd say wash morning and night with warm water, open pores, clean, close pores with cold water, try steam if you want. I use sudocream on any red spots and that gets them down, but use it at night providing it stays white :P

& if you go to the doctors and say theyre bothering you, and you act anoyedf or they affect your confidence, they usually subscribe you something. That being said it usually takes 5-8 weeks to see results aparantly. You gotta stick at it as well and if it doesnt work, they can try a different medication.

Does smoking increase spots?
in my case, definitely. even if it doesn't i can guarantee your skin will look healthier if you quit even if you still have spots.

Not sure but it increases wrinkles.
one reason i quit ;p

anyway yeh exercise + water because they flush out the bad things which cause spots (so if you are smoking it's coming through your skin and blocking your pores, considering it's your largest organ). hence why you need a healthy diet.

Drink plenty of water, ensure your face is clean, try to avoid touching your face aswell, especially if you're hands are dirty (wash them if you need to touch your face).

If you have long hair then cut it, teenage hair is naturally greasy even if you wash it twice a day it still effects your skin and the longer the hair, the more of your face it effects - theres nothing you can do about that part, your young so your hair is more greasy naturally than older people and younger kids. Another good point is that during summer expose your face to the sun for as much as you possibly can and if your near the sea, salt also helps clear it up.

Don't drink lemonade! Unless it's like, healthy version not processed with the incredible sugar content.
Large intake of refined sugars causes an increase in insulin levels, this promotes production of hormones and so skin will get more greasy/natural oil. Sugar is linked to increase in production of spots.
Also refined sugars increase body fat storage.
Smoking also obviously won't be helping.
Drink water. Should be drinking at least half of your weight in pounds a day in water. Excluding water gained from foods and other liquids...
