It's funny seeing all the people around the forum campaigning and whatnot but are you old enough to vote?

I am 18, and yes.

The campaigning on here is annoying. It just puts me off whichever party they're preaching, especially when it's done poorly.

Yes I can vote.

I can't vote, and when I can I probably won't.
Everything that people say is a pack of lies, they win the election then do nothing?
No point really, I must say.

Nope. I think a lot of people that campaign on here are idiots - they clearly have no idea and campaign to make themselves look more knowledgeable...

People wyo say they won't when they are 18 are dumb. If you don't vote you have NO right to complain about the party in power - but I bet you will moan.

I don't think they would moan for the party in power. It's what people vote not ours, if they want a certain party to win then vote for them. In my eyes it's a pack of lies for what every party say. Doesn't mean I'd moan about it afterwards, I have no reason to complain about who wins since I won't, and wouldn't vote.

Okay I am half cast, BNP get in power and decide they don't want halfcast people anymore. However I didn't vote.

Believe me I would moan.

i don't think that's a fair generalisation. i for one aren't voting as i just don't have a clue who to vote for. i've skimmed over everyones policies, and that still didn't make my mind up. obviously everyone has a right to vote, but everyone also has a right to complain regardless of whether they voted or not as everyone loves to complain.

I agree it's not their fault they can't vote and quite honestly I don't see why people can't vote at 16 when the law says they can have sex which is a judgment call in itself. Might make people more motivated and interested in politics.

I'm 18 on 20th May. Sucks for me :( I would vote if I was old enough, probably for Lib Dems because they always have the policies that benefit me. Not that I trust any of the parties to do anything they say they will!

Nope, one year off.

It annoys me when people say "I BET EVERY1 WIF A POLITICAL PARTIEE IN DER SIGNATURE IS LYK UNDER 18 ND CANT VOTE HOW STUPID" - sure, you have to be 18 to vote but you DO NOT have to be 18 to read up on a party's policies and agree with them.
