Any chance of getting these unfiltered again? All members expect one last time had no problem with them and they were removed because someone cried about an infraction for filter avoidance because it wasn't "clear".
You should unfilter these and make it clear that these are the only words that are acceptable, and if someones wants to complain about a filter word that they didn't know was filtered let them. Most users have been here long enough to know which words are filtered and what is and what isnt acceptable
kk decided lol
Edited by Catzsy (Forum Super Moderator): Thread closed for persistent arguments and FM and AFM have both replied giving their reasons for filter to remain.
I am reluctant to say yes to unfiltering any words in the filter so soon after the drama that resulted last time. Yes I don't think these words are bad but obviously, for some members, you give them an inch and they take a mile. It is something we will probably look at in the future but following the behaviour of some people last time I don't feel that inclined to do it :(.

Problem is, if you allow that again, I think people might post things like:
I wanted to f ing kill him
They have only said f and not the whole swear word so they will argue why isnt that allowed but F in O M F G is allowed which is also swearing.

You can say that already :S
You know my stance on this and how a pedantic decision last time was unnecessary :P

i didnt cry over an infraction, i simply posting a thread asking as to why it was you could do this and not this and could it be made clearer, so get your facts right before you post.
OT: I personally dont see the need for them, we already have omg and lmao, why would you need to add the f in, pointless swearing to me?
because i want to...?
Why do people break the rules? pointless rule breaking...?
same thing

so you have just said you agree its pointless so therefor not needed? It will just cause confusion and youv just admited its pointless therefor should be no point in doing it.
no i compared it to rule breaking, and you im almost sure you wanted it removed before you got your infraction and make a thread crying about it. Most members wanted it aswell

I remember the thread and you are right. Some people just like being immature and swearing in every post they make.

Another problem with this, as Garion briefly highlighted by stating if we give an inch members try to take a mile.
If we did unfilter them, then there'd just be words that replaced those and you'd want those unfiltered after a while.

there is no need for them to be unfilted? we have lmao and omg, why do you need to add an f in them, by doing this you would be just causing so much more confusion and problems for yourself.

Unfortunately some people are simply immature and feel the need to swear in every sentence for it to make sense in their little heads. :).

Against it for all the reasons I was against it last time, plus the fact that it creates the double standard that was so horribly displayed last time it was unfiltered. Learn from the past and leave it alone.

Listens to the wise words!!!!!
I don't see why you don't just allow people to turn the filter off (yes, it can be done).
You say it will look bad, but it is only for those who choose to turn it off, otherwise it is on for guests and people who don't turn it off?

Meaning the rules of avoiding the filter will have to be lifted. But it will mean people will just swear in alot more posts for the sake of it.
Why do people feel the need to swear?

It's the same concept with Habbo, and in fact had alot of praise from the members.

it'd be too much of a headache for mods. that was the reason before, n nothings changed so yeah.
it'd be cool if these were unfiltered (plus F.ML) being unfiltered would be nice since you know. titch was the reason it got filtered again right? idk why everyone says "due to certain members" cuz i think everyone knows lol.
anywayyyyy yeah unfilter ploz.

How? for new users and for people not logged in they could easily have it so it filters... I find it funny how the only time you'll agree with something in feedback is when 1) Management/ Friends agree/post it or 2) When you post something. Fact.
@blob
I asked them to do that in a thread ages ago but they said "It will look bad as it would be there permanently".
"Why do you need to swear?" lets face facts people swear in everyday life. We are moving up in the world I don't see why certain words offend people. The word smelly could offend someone, why isn't that filtered. People need to get with the times imo. Ppl swear bcos (for example) it defines how annoyed you are to a stronger extent. It amazes me how swearing used in different context is perfectly fine, "I don't give a poo" "I don't give a ****" Whats the difference between both of them? they mean the exact same thing.. lol
contains swearing blah blah
The only reason why sh.it sounds worse than poo is because people make it out to sound allot worse.

Get your facts right, Sammeth was the reason it was removed, i made a thread asking several QUESTIONS and sammeth made the decision to re-filter them, i didnt ask him to do that, he done that of his own mind!

Lool at this even more, i don't just agree with management or friends, i hardly ever agree with management, and with the friends bit, name me a thread where i have just gone, i agree because my friend does.
I agree with what i believe is right for the forum.
You are sad for having to result to personal attacks because you cant come up with valid reasoning yourself and i pity you for that.

In response to further questions within this thread:
We don't have rules against swearing - you are free to swear on the forums as much as you like (as long as it's not aimed at anybody - then it's rude), it'll just get filtered which looks a lot better ~ we could ban swearing altogether...
Richie, Titch agreeing with management? This is the first time i've seen it in a long while eh Titch? :P
Anyway, the thread is now closed so any further questions can be directed at myself or Garion via PM, although I warn you - you will probably just get the same answers that have been given in this thread.
