Engadget claims to have found the iphone 4G, (or HD?).

Apparently its probably from the apple labs so not a finished product

Very interesting, they claim it was left at a bar and someone picked it up. :S

A new article about it ;) It's quite interesting tbh, I hate the design though :\
Also Apple have actually said they've lost an iPhone Prototype.

Its about time they changed the design, the curved thing is looking a bit outdated. Its ok but the whole concept of the iphone seems a bit old, it needs shaking up a bit.

i think it's just Apple feeding their own rumours tbh.
I'm not too sure on it tbh, it's too cliche... it's designed too much around the macbooks and macs ... idk.
It seems to fit in very well with concepts that people have made, so, personally, I am not sure.
I hope to god it isn't that because it's darn ugly!

i heard this too :P, but it was reported on the telegraph when i read it this morning.
The shape may also change so any who dont like it, theres still a chance it is gonna change

This might BE the new iPhone, and if it is, I can see a lot of consumers being put off by its design.
It just doesn't seem Apple-like to me.

I think they need to stop making iTouches look like iPhones that really annoys me, each ipod/iphone should have a new design imo
am i the only one that actually likes the look of it then? :P

I don't know why people don't like the design, now at least it looks more like a phone rather than a fashion statement. It IS a real Apple product, probably the 4G, but probably just a prototype and it probably will change before it comes to stores. Apple have even mailed Gizmodo saying that they want it back.
I love the design, its much more like PHONE. I have a 3G and I'm forever being cautious cause I know if I drop it - its ******, at least with this it looks and apparently feels much more solid and much more like a phone. I love the look of it too, so different.
IMO I just hope that the internal specs match the external look of it, rumors days before Gizmodo had it (i think Engadget had one, or the same one) were saying that it had an 80GB HD? 80GB? bit strange (I thought it would be 64?) but I'll take it, and they also reported more ram, better processor and a much higher resolution screen, and not to mention its already proven that it has a much better camera on the back with flash, and also A FRONT FACING CAMERA! :)
Can't wait for my upgrade in June/July!

If there were any remaining doubters about the authenticity of the prototype iPhone that was leaked earlier today, Gizmodo has posted a letter from Apple demanding the device back. The letter may seem like an odd admission by Apple, but apparently was required by Gizmodo to return the device.
Apple reportedly called Gizmodo earlier today after the images of the unreleased device were posted to the internet. The prototype iPhone was reportedly left at a bar by an Apple employee. The letter reads:
It has come to our attention that GIZMODO is currently in possession of a device that belongs to Apple. This letter constitutes a formal request that you return the device to Apple. Please let us know where to pick up the unit.
The letter is signed by Apple's Senior Vice President & General Counsel Bruce Sewell.
Gizmodo, of course, will be returning the phone.

Heard about that letter this morning, unless it is a very good fake, then it HAS to be real.

Bloody hell.
I love how a 'FRONT FACING CAMERA!!!' (which has been around for years) is suddenly the biggest revolution ever now apple are putting it on the iPhone.
Just like everything else.

its what apple are going to do with it, it's rumored to be called 'iChat' and you may be able to video conference for free from iPhone to iPhone with the front facing camera.

They already said they'd give it back if they said a time and a place to meet.

I'm very excited about this! I quite like the look of it. Sky News (http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Technology/4G-iPhone-Found-In-Bar-Gizmodo-Tech-Website-Claims-To-Have-Prototype-Of-New-Model/Article/201004315609339?lid=ARTICLE_15609339_4GiPhoneFound InBar,GizmodoTechWebsiteClaimsToHavePrototypeOfNew Model&lpos=searchresults) have an article about it also.

I think it's gorgeous. Already looking at the prices I could get for my second hand iPhone 3G 16GB unlocked, some are still going for £300 on Ebay. :P

They are legally obliged to.

If you watch the video the back is made of the same glass the front is, and it's made of a metal around the side similar to what the iMac/Macbook Pro is made of.
I think it looks better than the 3G/3GS, I hate how rounded they are compared with this. The rounded back of the 3G makes for odd scratchmarks.

Not really, they use the same connection all you have to do is get some scissors and cut a normal sim card down to microsim size :)
