So I am moing to bt from talktalk, but bt need our mac code. So I phoned talktalk LAST Friday, and after 6 working days they still haven't given it to us - by law they have to give it after 5 working days..
So now they say they have sent it to us, by email, this morning. However they have cut our internet. So I can't get the ******* code anyway. My phoneline and internet is down, it is turning in to a joke. Any idea what I do next??
Due to them taking the phoneline down I had to phone them via my mobile, the call took 51 minutes - costing me 17£!
Anyway advice - if you want to leave a company don't. Give them a chance to take your phoneline :l

Can't you just tell TalkTalk to give the Mac code to BT? Or at least ask BT to get it for you. I know when My family switched from BT to Sky we didn't have to worry about it since Sky got it for us.
Also, If you switching to BT don't expect SkySports if they told you you were going to get it cause you aren't.

If anyone ever has this problem, just give OFCOM a ring, email, letter or whatever, when they contact your ISP they are sure to comply in a snap ;)
You're making a good choice of ISP in my opinion, I don't see why people around here don't like BT Broadband, for us it's been pretty much plain sailing, as soon as our old broadband went down our BT was activated, never hit the 80GB usage limit, never get throttled and we get consistent speeds 24/7 (the free VoIP number and Hub Phone is a godsend too considering mum spends all the time on the phone...)
BT was fine for us too. Consistently decent speeds/
We changed though because it was expensive and wanted an "unlimited" plan.

Just want to throw in that aside from the throttling (which once you know how it works can be easily avoided) virgin seems pretty good too :)
Sorry to hear about your troubled Dom, as Tom said just give OFCOM a bell they can't argue with them :)

Thanks for the tips guys - will phone ofcom tomorrow - been suffering with a migraine today, so to be honest the last thing I was planning on doing was to have ANOTHER argument with them!
If o have learnt one thing though, is if you are planning on leaving and have the time (and that thing called a phoneline), everytime you phone they each magically give a better deal "which they cannot improve" not that, that is consolation after their customer service. It gets even worse when they realise they are wrong they say "ill put you through to our ... department" - yesterday they did this THREE times.
And just to top it all off, tbhe whole nointernet or phoneline thing is actually the most annoying thing I have had to deal with in years - I am bloody happy I got my milestone before all this!!
