I got a PM for saying lmao with an F in - fair enough, you don't allow it. Was just wondering why not? I've always been able to comprehend the for and against for all changes but I don't understand why you don't allow it. Just wondering if I could get the 'official' reason.

because we don't allow people to say the f word. you can say lmfao in here though if its a valid thread... and it isn't just replying with LMFAO!11... they did unfilter it i believe but re-filtered it because UK are childish.

I fully understand that, I just find it bizarre. You can't possibly use LM*AO to insult somebody and it can't be interpreted as the F word. I have just checked and even before on Habbo when you could turn the filter off LM*AO wasn't filtered. I know this isn't Habbo but I struggle with the reason you posted, I don't find that at all valid.

because then the debate comes up if we allow one word with f*ck in it, then everything should be allowed. like we can't say wtf, and that cannot be used to insult someone..

I think you will find the reasons given in this recent thread:

Nothing that holds any validity.

Nothing that holds any validity.
In what way?
Nothing that holds any validity.
The validity behind it is that when we did filter the words previously, there was an uproar and people began to take advantage and it caused numerous problems. I see no reason why people cannot just use "lmao", there's no real difference.
