I think its an excellent way to get the forum active again :). Well done to who ever thought it up.
But remember, it will only be a success if we all vote THE RAINBOW PARTY. Vote TBP and we all go to Jail.

I don't see the point in this, it'll be someone who posts in spam and has lots of chums on this forum. They'll do nothing worth mentioning and it'll blow over without any notice.
It was a combined effort of Oli and myself. We thought it up a couple of weeks back and perfected it in the past couple of days.

It's a good idea. It's generating a lot of activity and it's something that could bring the community. It's a bit of fun :D. Funny that members should complain when we don't do something and when we do it gets criticised too :P

So staff doing nothing promoting the most inane users of this forum to contribute to do nothing. Congratulations you've managed to do what the Labour and Conservatives have done for the past 50 years.

We're running an event that has required a lot of planning and setting up and will continue to do so. Including the creation of certain groups, reading of applications, requesting graphics, setting up user groups, arranging a habbo debate, awarding prizes and much more. We are doing something.
It's a competition, it's not about contribution per se. It's designed to increase activity and give members something fun to do - we're doing just that. I'd love to see if you have any better ideas? Hey, if you do, why don't you create your own party and enter it for this competition?

Its laods of fun, gets new users involved. Dunno why people are putting gaerion and oli down, as it seems like a great idea and its goo that theyve actually taken iniative and produced something people can get involved in.

If you vote for The Community Party we are serious in everything we do. We are not jokers like the rest of the parties that have surfaced. Your views count and it's our aim to implement as many of them as we can!

I was just talking to ***** about that;
ended up with me saying "make all perm bans public, all "banned from doing x" lists public, every infraction public and reshuffle the mod team"
considering you wont let users see their user notes (which they should be able to), tell everyone why someone was banned/punished to make sure the mod team isn't being biased there would be no point
This wont increase activity bar that of current members who will go back to 0 when it's over. As for fun I could see it being p. fun.

I'm really confused lol. You're talking about possible policies there, like it interests you?! This is a competition.
It's something for our current members to enjoy and do, yes. It's being transferred onto Habbo too in the form of a leaders debate etc so that might even draw in some new members. Maybe activity will die down after, but it's something to get activity up now and it also gives our members something to do - if we don't give members fun things to do, they're going to leave and activity is just going to get worse.
I really don't see your problem.

It interests me because it could be used to do something good. But it's a joke so there's no point.
also i need to go do stuff

I know it's a bit of fun but actually, the "policies" that really matter and people want just will not get implemented.
I agree with Jew Bear's ideas, posted above btw.
But yes, it's a good idea.

We have said if people propose any sensible policies we will implement them if we think they will be beneficial.

That's the problem, it's only the stuff that management think is any good that's ever implemented!
Well I think it's a fantastic idea and it's the first habbox event that I've ever got interested in. I love how for once it's more forum based than habbo based and you might even lure me onto habbo to watch the debate. And when it comes down to it, a lot more people will vote than have got involved in the parties, and will be probably more likely to vote for the party that'll make the most difference, not the ones which seem like inside jokes.

Ladies and gentlemen, I pledge you to ditch the other groups and recongize our group as a whole. We're a party which shares your ideas and you're suggestions which will benefit the forum, we ain't just abit of fun, we want to make a difference, join us!
It's good in the sense that it allows all the forum users to actually take part in a community based activity and it'll attract more people to use the forum :)

I think it's a good idea, people are shouting vote this, vote that all over Habbo. It'll get people interested and obv some new users.
If you don't like the idea. Simple, don't get involved.
I think this is the worst idea in a long time.
Care to explain WHY? It's hard to make improvements on anything if people make sweeping statements without backing it up.

it's a good idea n'all, but could you not make a new forum/subforum for the duration of it so spam isn't overrun :(

pah, then no one would post in spam :(

There will be a specific forum when we manifestos are posted on Tuesday. If it gets any worse I might create one beforehand though.

well as more people make their parties, it'll get worse, so you'll probably be making one soon :P
Inseriousity.

people make sweeping statements without backing it up.
lol should be used to that by now :)
Anyway I think it's funny, gets people interacting and can't expect every party to take it seriously cos it's not an actual election (oops have I ruined it now :P)

Lol yeah I guess :p.
It also seems to be generating activity in HxHD, which is always good :D

There are (albeit mostly bad who aren't smart enough for their role) moderators and managers, etc, what's the point in this? "Parties" are going to cause arguments if anything.

There are indeed - and again, I don't know what evidence you have to back up your claim myself, Oli and the Moderators lack intelligence. The point is to HAVE FUN and to get people posting. Lots of people are enjoying it, and it's all friendly banter, not arguing.
Not everyone wants to be serious and pretend they are better than everyone else.

I didn't name you and Oli, nor was referring to you.

Apologies - seeing as the competition is about the forum and you were referring to Moderators and managers I assumed it was related.
I just think your arguments aren't well constructed. It hasn't caused arguments, and those involved are enjoying it a lot.

If you went in Spam last night, you could see threads from the previous day in page 1.
Go in today and you see threads from this evening in first page.
How is that a bad thing?

I think it's a great idea, loads of people are getting involved and it's a good bit of fun.
My party is quite clearly the best though. (A)

I'm very pleased with the reaction we've had to this already :)
I think it's going to be an absolutely fantastic week. Good luck to all.
