Owners of the jewellers in Bury, Greater Manchester thought the 6ft robber was a woman and allowed him entry but as soon as he was buzzed in three men barged in behind him - one brandishing a shotgun.

This is why the burka needs to be banned: it is a security threat. It is just like wearing a balaclava or motorcycle helmet.

Indeed, it's not good at all. CCTV is useless if people's faces are covered and one of the failed London bombers tried to escape by wearing a burka. Anything that conceals a persons identity in public and does not make them instantly identifiable should not be allowed in public, with the exception of motorbike helmets when the rider is on a bike... common sense.

Yeh, it is a serious threat. They should only be allowed to wear them in private. Obviously the uproar would be huge if that law was created, but it would make the streets alot safer.

It's not at all necessary in Islam, it's a ridiculous garment unless you're walking through a sandstorm in blazing heat.

It's not even religous... The only reason they wear them is because theyre not allowed other men to look at them. But that's only a rule made up by their husbands.
