A big blow is this, but England have good players to come in for him, e.g. Ledley King and Michael Dawson.
Hope it isn't a metatarsal injury though...
I hope he's okay but like you say, we're fortunate to have decent alternatives. It'll still be a big blow to the squad as a whole though. Terry's been playing even better imho than before all his personal problems got discussed in the papers.

I think SSN are just making a big deal out of it as always. Chelsea's statement on their website states IT IS PRECAUTIONARY measure to have the scan - and that he was WALKING FREELY in a protective boot as he left Chelsea's training ground.
Seems like SSN are blowing things out of all proportion - again.
Crossed fingers and metatarsals anyway.

And he's got his reputation by being one of the most consistant CB's in the world over the last few years. He's a top class defender who can lead a team, and who is solid at the back. England could end up with having just Dawson, Upson and Carra fit in defence if King, Rio and Terry get injured which is actually quite possible.

have you seen any chelsea games this season? he's been awful, especially in the second half. exploited by the best attacks in the world as highlighted in europe. you can't judge him on previous seasons. gerrard has also been awful.

What so one bad season renders a player rubbish and unworthy of World Cup duty?

yes, it does actually.
But I still disagree with Jake, you don't win the Premier League when your captain and main centre back is having a bad season.

What about Podolski. He's had a terrible season and his club form is rubbish yet he is one of the first names on the German Team Sheet because he preforms on a big stage, and he has always done well with Germany. Club form doesn't mean a lot when it comes to Country. It means a bit yes but just because a player's not done that well for his club doesn't mean he'll be rubbish for country. They are two different teams, two different managers, two different styles. Gerrard has done **** because he's had to carry Liverpool all season on his own really and he can't do that as he needs to be given room to do his own thing, and in England he will get that. We all know why John Terry has done crap this season, but it's all died down really and he's going into the WC (If he makes it without this injury), with a PL title and a possible FA Cup.

that's the thing though, big games terry hasn't performed. sure chelsea might have won but i know that their defending was so sloppy against united and city, fundamentally down to terry and his lack of defending

Well you'll see a different Gerrard at the World Cup, trust me.

Yeah he's fine. Yet again Sky Sports News make something massive out of nothing, reporting that he broke his metatarsal, when really he hasn't broken anything.
