I think this is more an error then actual rape.
I think:
a) the girl and boys doesnt understand what rape is.
b) they were just being "curious" if you get me
So they were confused what rape is and they thought they had it. Just a confusion me thinks.

The court will obviously take into account that they might not necessarily be fully aware of the connotations of their actions but at the end of the day they still subjected the girl to unwanted sexual conduct and they must be semi-aware of what it entails for it to happen. She asked them to stop and "hurt her" and continued nevertheless. The judge will gauge their full understanding of their actions throughout the trial and there are other systems in place to aid him doing that. The sentence will reflect this.
Assuming they are found guilty of course.

Like Jamie Bulger?
I wonder how long these will get, thats crime in general in this country now;- the sentences they recieve actually anger me more than the actual crimes committed.

No, this is why so called parents/carers shouldn't be allowed children in the first place.

Why are people so quick to judge, these boys may well be innocent, and if that is the case, the trauma of the whole case no doubt will leave it's mark, for all three concerned.
Only if they are found guilty should we diss them. I do hope this is a terrible misunderstanding which has been badly handled.

have to lol really.A very unfortunate case. It seems like the girl didn't understand the seriousness of accusing someone of that, her mother understandably believed her and took it seriously. And the boys were unjustly blamed, although the justice system prevailed.

I can't really give one comment on this because I have absolutely no idea as to whether or not she was really raped (which would of course be horrible) or if the three were playing doctor (which, if that's true, has most likely caused a significant amount of public embarrassment by now).

Yeh, read about this in the paper this morning.
Absolutely sick. This happened around 1 year ago, as I read and one of the boys is now 11 and they both deny it. That is sick, why would someone at that age even be thinking about that? Who the hell brought those kids up.
I also read that the person interviewing the girl, asked her "What were you thinking about whilst they were doing that to you." She replied, "I was thinking of going to the sweet shop to buy some sweets with my mum."

If she was in fact lying, then my original point still stands for the girl's mother if she can't even read her own eight-year-old making such drastic false allegations.
