Resurgence Pack

In what might be the briefest press release (http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=469408) we've ever received from a major publisher announcing a new chunk of DLC for an über-successful game, Activision revealed that another set of five multiplayer maps for Modern Warfare 2 (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/modern-warfare-2) will drop on Xbox Live on June 3. We know two things about said maps so far: They're coming in a set called the "Resurgence Pack," and their release will be heralded by two double XP weekends on May 28 and June 4.

Now, that's what we know. What we assume is that the pack will feature a mix of new maps and renovated versions of Call of Duty 4 maps -- perhaps a bit more of the latter, given the title of the bundle. What we also assume is that the "Resurgence Pack" will carry the $15 price tag of the "Stimulus Package" (it worked well enough before (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/07/modern-warfare-2-stimulus-package-sells-over-2-5m-units-in-a-w/)). We'll contact people in the know to see if we can squeeze out any firmer details.

Sounds good, but lets hope the maps are decent unlike the previous map pack with the only good maps being mainly the cod 4 ones but as they are saying that they are re-re-releasing chinatown i think its going to be good as i always liked that map.

I hope there are better maps this time because I don't like half of the ones in the first pack. Salvage is just awful, I don't really like Storm, Bailout is alright, Crash is good, Overgrown is alright (I never really liked it in CoD4).

Carentan/Chinatown would be good. It was one of my favourites in CoD2/4

Oh, I wouldn't have minded if they did re-release Chinatown because I never had any DLC on COD4. Anyway, I haven't got the first map pack yet (on PS3 at least), and this comes out right after my birthday so I probably won't be gaming much for a long while after it comes out.

yeah i'm not getting this. I'll watch about them on youtube or something. there's no way i'm going to pay a stupid price for a pitiful amount of content for a game that needs far more free patches than it needs expensive dlc

The new Modern Warfare 2 map pack, Resurgence, has been detailed in an interview with Major Nelson.
Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling confirmed that the two old maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to return will be Vacant and Strike. The three new maps confirmed for the DLC are known as Trailer Park, Carnival and Fuel.
Trailer Park is seen as a “super condensed” map, cutting through abandoned trailers and is pretty much “a maze”, according to Bowling. Carnival is a daytime map and a “decimated amusement park”, full of rides you’d tend to expect there like fun houses and rollercoasters.
The final map is called Fuel, which is a “sniper haven”, full of wide open space in an oil refinery and is “completely unique” from other maps in the Resurgence pack.
Bowling didn’t state a price for the pack in the interview with Nelson (http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/05/13/an-interview-with-robert-bowling-on-the-mw-2-resurgence-package.aspx?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MajorNelson+%28Major+Nelson+% 28Xbox%29%29&utm_content=Google+Reader), but expect it to be $15 (1200 MS points) like the Stimulus Package.

Anyone that buys this is stupid. Two more re-birthed map packs and... ergh. What a waste. I wonder how many people will find glitches with this.

I must admit the pictures look awesome, and I loved Vacant, but it's just the price. If it was like 800 points I'd get it, but 1200 is just stupid for what's basically 3 new pieces of content.
