Hiiiii

Just an idea which might help events and competitions department out :) - maybe even get more donors!

Basically split the last 3 forums of the 'Habbox' category into a separate category.
It will make competitions and Events forum more noticeable (well stand out more) and they might get more people attending / entering.

Here is what it will look like:

I would minimize it that way because the only reason i keep that forum open is for announcements

Inseriousity.

Good idea... then again, I'm biased.

Yeh I think that is a good idea :D

Yeah, I agree. It would make it more noticed and more entries. I don't think that many people minimize forums anyway and even if they do I don't think they'd minimize this one to see Community Announcements and Competitions.

One of the main criticisms against Habbox is when you open up the forum it's a massive wall of text, we're taking a lot of action to reduce this, reducing forums and tonight I have re-written all Forum Descriptions so I don't think adding an extra category will help in this point.

However, if a lot of users think this would be beneficial it's something I'd be willing to consider although in my opinion as Forum Manager it may look a bit messy with an extra category, as short categories tend to look pointless.

i can see why it'd be done, but personally there's too many categories already

It'd be a lot more simpler because I tend to overlook the Competitions forum because it's in a sea of everything else.

lol I was trying to work out why the forum looked different but couldn't figure it out now I've realised. :D

I think that having the forums broken up like that make it more appealing to the eyes. Although I can see it can be pointless from an admin perspective, it helps having things broken up like that, and with vb4's way of physically seperating the catergories, it makes that broken up look better.

Great suggestion :)

I personally prefer it broken up because the way it is now, I usually end up not noticing it.

I do like the look of it, I'm just going on the feedback I've had recently to cut things down, but in this thread it seems to be liked so we'll see what further response we get.

Tbh its only really adding a slight bit, but if it gets more entries and noticed more, its good :)

I do like this idea. It should help with entries and publicity for all and stuff like that! It will take a while to get used to, though, it looks really odd for some reason in the image :(. But good idea! I'm for it.

Any update on this? Quite a few people seem to like it, its more appealing and makes the Competition forum more visible instead of having it buried in the top category.

no that means more category !!!

comps forum should be merged with community notice so people dont have to look in two places and considering they are both community...

I do like this idea and I'll be honest with exams etc I had forgotten about it :P I have no issues with doing it but I'd like to see a few more replies saying yes and I'll do it this weekend, i'll probably do it anyway to be honest as I do think it looks good.

yet you add **** like kazopark instead of putting it as a subforum of the online games category

That has nothing to do with this. That is part of the sponsorship and is hardly a situation Oli can stop now is it? No.

"Yet you" ~ Although if you read Oli's latest reply, you will see that he likes the idea. Yes we are have reduced the number of forums over the months on Habbox, but one for Kazopark is not hurting anyone.

Additionally the Kazopark forum, as it stands, is somewhat active and doesn't really need merging (yet). We only cut down on forums or merge them into other forums if the forum in question is not attracting much activity. This is not the case with the Kazopark forum :). Although it isn't super active threads within that forum do not span over a period longer than a month and it will grow in activity, I believe, with the beta release drawing nearer.

'yet you' refers to habbox as i highly doubt oli adds/removes every forum that is added/removed.

Actually, I do and I did set up the Kazopark forum, which will be incredibly active over the next few weeks.

Its clear you are only saying it as I posted it  How lame ... and quite pathetic to be honest - or you would have posted a reason as to why "its a dumb idea" when the majority support it.

He sort of did post a reason though, he said it's fine as it is.

i agree actually. if it was divided up you could see the comps and events more clearly whereas now its not that easy to notice them +Rep :)
