CBS cancel Cold Case, Ghostwhisper + more

In a stunning move, CBS has axed both Ghost Whisperer and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

Also gone: Gary Unmarried, Cold Case, Miami Medical, Accidentally on Purpose, and Numb3rs.

Medium and Rules of Engagement, meanwhile, have been renewed.

Fans may want to hold off on eulogizing Ghost and Christine for a day or two, however. There’s an outside chance that ABC (which co-owns GW and has long coveted Christine) may swoop in and rescue one or both.

“There’s a 50/50 shot that Christine will move to ABC,” says one source. A reprieve for Ghost appears less likely. Final decisions are expected later this week. In the meantime, my Bubble Show Scorecard has been updated.

i liked cold case when i used to watch it. wasn't bothered about ghost whisperer though but ma mum liked it. god everyones cancelling loadsss of programmes. guess it's that time of year.

Don't like any of them myself but I always think its a shame for long time viewers that many plot points never get an ending due to the timing of cancelations. But aslong as NCIS gets at least another few seasons then I'm happy.

Yeah, they're dropping Ghost Whisperer and picking up Medium, which is basically the same thing, but without JLH.

I hate NCIS but it won't be going anywhere for a long time. As CBS said at their upfront this year more Americans saw NCIS than saw Avatar. The show will likely be the top rated scripted programme this season which is impressive considering the show airs against American Idol, Biggest Loser and Dancing With The Stars.

All those CBS shows had to go, with the current position they are in they can afford to axe modest performers.
