basically, theres a gay teacher in my school. hes 65, bald and jewish, which in my school is pretty bad cos he gets bullied by everyone cos of it.. every class he teaches he gives up with them & EVERYONE bullies him. he doesnt go sick at people, he just shouts sometimes, but mostly waits. everyone walks outa his lesson and tbh, i feel quite sorry for him - even some staff take the piss outa him. hes called mr jacobs and cos hes gay, he gets called gaycobs and cos his first name starts with a B, his initals are B.J which makes things worse.
he used to be a lawyer for most of his life and married a scottish woman in scotland, had a kid with her then left his family for his gay partner..
not that i have anything wrong with that, but i dont understand, why you would give up a job like that, highly payable and stuff, to get a job which doesnt give you much pay & where you get bullied by everyone? why does he do it? :S

AHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA poor poor man lol.
uhh maybe because love conquers all (not personally but for a lot of people it is)? he doesn't care about having to quit his job and suffer abuse if it means staying with his partner. there's probably a reason but he's pretty brave doing that

he is 65 and used to be a lawyer, some people need to have some respect. i don't know him and feel sorry for him, not many people would put up with that so no he wasn't in the wrong...

yeh, was same when i did french. i dont rlly care about his subject, its citizenship lol but it is quite interesting sometimes. and its not really fair when it takes us 40 minutes to do the register and then the other 20 minutes he spends going on at us.. :/ waste of time really.. we have never had a propa lesson with him

Because he obviously WANTED to help people out. Teaching is a calling. How about you start stopping people from bullying him? Take a stand. Don't walk out of the classroom with the others.

ok yh we have some teachers like this but they dont sound as much of an easy target as this guyy
it sounds quite funny but i feel bad for him cos in things like this i usually laugh for a bit then i just consider their feelings and i hate it when people in my classes dont take it seriously and just ruin the lesson, its so frustrating. must be even harder for the teacher.

To be honest, teachers subjected to this every day, even though they don't show it, could be suffering from some pretty bad depression, you just don't know it. If you can, don't contribute to it: you'll only make things worse for him. If you really felt sorry for him you'd take any punishment he was dishing out, or actually do any work he assigns you - just to help make his life that little bit easier.

How the hell do you know so much about his life
Inseriousity.

If he's a laywer, I'm guessing he has a thicker skin than you give him credit for, so the constant bullying (while it will still have some effect) may not be as huge as it could have been if it was someone a little more vulnerable. He's used to constant pressure.
It's possible that he's not leaving because of all the financial uncertainty at the minute and he left because he had this wonderful idea about inspiring children, an idealistic view that pushes many people into teaching (I hope anyway!)

he told us most of this in like y7 when we first started and yeh, he brings it up near enough every lesson
"as most of you know, i am a gay man and i live with my partner" and btw, his partners like 35 *puke*

Good thing he's not ginger too, eh?
Joking :')
I feel sorry for him just reading this. I know it's a bit far fetched but have you considered speaking to him after the lesson or telling the headteacher about it? After all, it's the headteachers job to ensure all the teachers are performing up to standard...
