There's been rumors that Apple had ended its long-running of "Get a Mac" ad campaign ever since Justin "Mac" Long said he thought they might be done last month, and it looks like that's now finally been confirmed by Apple -- the company has pulled all the ads from its site and is instead redirecting folks to its new "Why You'll Love a Mac" page. Of course, the move doesn't exactly come as a huge surprise considering that Apple hasn't produced a new one since its Windows 7-challenging ads last October, and Apple has certainly had plenty of prime material since then. Head on past the break for look at one of the more recent highlights, and hit up the more coverage links below if you feel like reminiscing a bit more. As for what's next for Apple, we can only guess. A triumphant return of Jeff Goldblum, perhaps?

Since most of you are Windows users who hated these ads, let us rejoice!

They were the most misinforming unimaginative pieces of ******** of an ad campaign, just taking cheap shots at the company that bailed them out.

Good riddance.

You forget why they bailed them out, dear Tom.

Too much alcohol and good Samaritan meetings? :(

And good ridence, they were incredibly stupid adverts. Thankfully they didn't last in the UK, and when they were here people preferred PC over Mac because Mac was an arrogant, snooty beggar with no likeable qualities :P At least Microsoft have made some decent adverts that actually inform the consumer and their target markets!

Well their new ads can't suck more than the Microsoft I made the PC ones, or the horrid ones with the people going in and saying Macs are expensive, then walking out with $1400 Sony Vaio's because "it's pink"!

Thankfully they didn't come to this country either :P The only ones that have come here are the "6/7/8 seconds of Windows" ads which are okay, though verging on being a bit too American :P Some are funny, but a big step away from Apple adverts.

I disagree. I pride both companies on giving their ads a little cheek, but they really just sucked.

The one with the mother and the child buying the expensive laptop over a MacBook? That was pretty crap, I think we've had this discussion before and I looked it up :) It's probably the different type of marketing and advertising between the UK and the US. The Apple ads were a complete failure here, using a comedy duo with people preferring David Mitchell (PC) over Robert Webb (Mac), but us Brits hate arrogance and generally look deeper into the meanings of adverts, so we opted for liking PC in the Mac adverts while hating the adverts in general as they broke so many advertising laws - false advertising being the central point.

The Windows 7 adverts are more likeable. Particularly the ones where they send a single person to the Microsoft Headquarters to try out a feature they "designed" to try them out themselves, as they show off a feature in the OS. I'm not sure if the adverts went over to the US, they seemed European based with a German man trying out a feature he "created". The "I'm a PC, and Windows 7 was/is my idea" is just a "mission statement" to chuck in as a phrase for us to remember and associate, though they work well with technological advances within the OS - faster start-up etc. It's how we roll in the UK :P

These adverts make me laugh, at least they aren't denying they can't get viruses now. Another thing that made me chuckle "Better hardware" maybe but for the price they sell them at? LOL!

They have a much more informed section now replacing the videos. Of course it's written in a pro-Apple light, but I don't think anything is an outright lie.

Actually the first one is a lie, "built-in defenses in Mac OS X" do not keep OS X safe from "Windows Viruses", The BSD code-base does, that has nothing to do with defences, it's architecture.

And the second one is a wild statement thrown out. Maybe in a few years they can make that claim, but it seems a bit premature seeing as the current style has only recently been adopted. As long as they do not hint towards computers being made poorly, then it's fine (seeing as previous Apple adverts and statements hinted that PCs are made by Windows and Microsoft, rather than hundreds of other computers - and no doubt there is a PC out there that is stronger and better built than a Mac :P)

Strong, stable architecture is an inherent defence. It's been worded by marketing, but it's not a lie.

Strong, stable architecture is an inherent defence. It's been worded by marketing, but it's not a lie. It's just secure because no one tries to hack it. At hacking contests etc it goes down very easily and I was reading about security experts recently who were saying Windows 7 is more secure than Mac OS. This also applies to things like iPhones and Safari, someone managed to write a code to take all your text messages etc from your phone easily, thankfully hackers never got this code.
