As far as we are aware there is a strong indication that official fansite status will still exist after the merge, given that it is likely fansite voting will open shortly after the merge and I am told this by a source I am inclined to trust. Nevertheless in the event it didn't we would reintroduce forum VIP but other than that I can't see much changing. It would be a take it as it comes kind of situation.

The Fansite Way has been updated. Whether you are an Official Fansite or an Unofficial Fansite, you must follow the Fansite Way.
Official Fansites Group
Habbo is a place where people come to relax, hang out and make new friends in a safe, non-threatening environment. The same goes for Habbo Fansites. If you want to use Habbo graphics on your site then you have to follow a simple set of rules; The Fansite Way. Also, anything you feature on your fansite must not break the Habbo Way, or influence users to break the Habbo Way.
Fansites CAN:
- Post fun, friendly Habbo news with your own analysis.
- Hold competitions and parties in Habbo.
- Allow all Habbos to join in without discrimination.
- Discuss non-offensive Habbo gossip on forums.
- Create fun, non-offensive alterations.
- Offer help for new and old Habbos.
- Hold events for your readers.
- Allow your visitors to post a photo of themselves that's appropriate and does not contain personal information.
- Offset your hosting costs with advertising banners or ad words.
- Use publically accessible images created and owned by Sulake Corporation Oy responsibly and within the restrictions of the Fansite Way and Terms & Conditions of Habbo Hotel.
Fansites Must NOT:

- Publish any unreleased news regarding updates, new Furni or features without Sulake's prior permission.
- Ask visitors for their Habbo passwords or personal information such as telephone numbers or home address.
- Charge users for premium services such as VIP access.
- Act as an affiliate for a commercial entity, nor offer merchandise (including Habbo Furni) or services for sale.
- Offer to buy, sell or trade Habbo accounts for real money or Habbo Credits.
- Break the law or talk others into breaking it.
- Publish any material which may be offensive to other users or contains sexual content.
- Publish any personal information, pictures, video or documents belonging to Sulake Corporation Oy.
- Use slander or any other form of bullying in order to harass other people.
- Disrupt the operation of any other official or unofficial fansite nor disrupt the Hotel community.
- Replicate any part of the Habbo Hotel service ('Retro' Hotels, Habbo Home clones etc).
- Represent that your site is approved by or affiliated with Sulake Corporation Oy or that any other content on your site is approved by or affiliated with Sulake Corporation Oy.

They aren't guesses but you're right we do often make assumptions but that is always on the basis of obvious evidence and intelligent inference. Regardless of the fansite way, we do also need to keep order on the forum and that is the reason for the rules.

I don't think any of them was made because it was included in the Habbo Way/Fansite way. They were made to keep the forum clean from certain content and what not.
Not allowing meet ups - Probably comes up in the Habbo way or something, I don't think they allow us to give out addresses and stuff on thei client.
Pictures in Av = Most polls before recently all voted no for it. So it was the majority of the forum not wanting such features.
Permissions for chat logs/photos - Keeps content from what you have not gave permission to be posted on the forum. That is a pretty fair rule to be honest, just the odd member does it anyway to cause trouble.

I don't know what member you are talking about here. But you can not say every single member of this forum does not have a disability, it would be wrong for us to even create a poll asking people if they have one or not.

yeah but my post was interpreted wrongly
also i don't like the ask permission one i will post properly explaining why when forum is back
If you have a problem with a Moderation decision that should be directed to the Forum Manager and if it was decided by him, it can be brought to MattGarner or myself.

Where's the section about premium services gone? :S
Also, alot of the extra forum specific rules are made by HxF :S There's no harm in a fansite making seperate rules... In fact, all of them do! The Fansite way is like a seperate guideline for the fansites. Besides, posting pics in your avatar may soon be a reality. The one about meeting up (if there is one) is just so HxF are not liable.

Meetups I'm guessing is a safety one and left over from the old Habbo Way about personal info etc.
Pics in av people don't want.
Permission for chat logs is just common courtesy, although if you're trying to cause trouble with someone you could just post what they've said without providing a chatlog I guess.
Targetting people let's be honest they're usually right, but I don't agree with being punished for it because it brings a new dynamic to the forum (or rather an old one, a throwback to 2006/7 perhaps) when the community is allowed to be like a real human community and not be forced to love each other unconditionally.
you can not say every single member of this forum does not have a disability, it would be wrong for us to even create a poll asking people if they have one or not.
Personally I can't think of anything more worthwhile and hilarious.

If that group is the only place where "rules" about fansites exists these days then one could assume there's no longer such a rule, but Saurav posted a list (albeit from the days of L_W) which did include it, so if that's still current there's not a lot we can do.

Found it:
http://www.habbo.co.uk/community/fansites/224-the-fansite-way
That seems to be more like a news article though. The Fansite Way doesn't feature in the FAQ either. Habbo seem to of made their sites into scrambled information pages, provided you work out how to browse the site by bypassing the horrid logging page :P

Before the existence of Official Fansites Habbox did just fine. The only change worth mentioning if it were removed would be the removal of Roxy, Matt and Jin's official fansite badges!

VIP is the only thing really but even if there was no official fansite status and no official rules, they could still very easily forbid it by threatening legal action.

Habbo wont get rid of fansites for one simple reason. it garentees sulake more money as people see Skaterchu, :Jin: and the people who have made the habbo hall of fame and want to be them so buy more furni ect

Why do you need hxf to meet up irl? Why does it even matter if its in the rules? If you are meeting up, chances are you have them on MSN and their phone number so just use that.
Yeah lol, just look at all the girls oli met up with hahahahahha
and i think the chatlog one is pretty stupid, obv if its insulting people they should not be allowed but other than that yeah.........

pics in av - people do want. recent polls have shown this.
meeting up - i understand but its our own risk and should be allowed to discuss it. although if when i met someone and gave them a tour of my fab house if they had slipped and fell down the stairs they mighta blamed hxf, woulda been catastrophic :l
chat log permission thingy - basically yesterday i got permission to post a pic of me and someone who was on cam. he quoted it himself and make a joke about it, showing he doesn't care. he also told me he reported the post saying i didn't have permission. so it makes me look in the bad even though i did get permission. my user note was reversed but if he hadn't have replied it wouldn't have been. obviously, if i posted say one of mine and leah's chats where we ***** about people then fair enough. should depend on context and moderators should just use common sense rather than having to follow the rules like they do (i know it's not their fault).

I think the one girl he's met up with is very easily justified considering what's come of it.

I think you have a good point about the chat log permissions. It's pretty darn hard to prove that you've gotten proof unless he's outright said so on Habbox Forum, and if he's trying to get you in trouble he wouldn't say that.

you ask on msn if you have permission to post. i say yeah. you post it.
i then report it.
you can show the mod me saying yes. i can say it's faked. flawed!!!!
