i agree. people just can't accept that when they take things too far, punishment is required to get them back in line. you can still say things to others without breaking rules and thus not getting any infractions/warnings - easy to say whats on your mind in a diplomatic way.
immense
26-05-2010, 07:14 PM
well the moderation could be more lenient but it's improved since 06/07.
and yeah preposterous, i GENERALLY accept my punishments and when i don't they're usually reversed anyway or i admit they're right like i did earlier wid nicola

Certain parts of our more "strict" (which arent really that strict) rules are liked by a lot of members though and it's sometimes a positive thing people highlight when comparing us to other fansites.

The moderation team is great! How can anyone say the moderation team is too strict?! I've broken rules loads of times and I only get a PM saying don't do it again. Cheers all Mods and Admins :)

Cheers for the thread Jake, I'm sure the Moderation department will love this. I don't remember my first usernote/warning/infraction, I don't think I have ever had one before. :O

Yeah that's what I was trying to say :D
I always preferred Habbox because it was a bit more strict and professional (this was when I just used it as a member).
Lol my one and only infraction was from 2005 for posting a news article which was old news in the Habbo UK news and rumours forum. It went straight to an infraction :(.
But yeh well done, much more open view and that is something great. Keep up the good work!
Richie

it is more lenient but some things need to be chillaxed like posting youtube vids with a few swear words my first infraction was off bolt for being sexualy explicit

I do like the mod department in general. I still think you should get away with saying 'shut p' since even my teachers say that to us, but in general they do do a good job, and are not as strict as they used to be,

Lool thanks Jake, I was wondering why you didn't reply back to me!
I agree, I don't think we're overly strict but if we weren't a little harsh at times then I think everything would be all over the place with rules been broken a lot more than they are now.

Just to add to them not being as strict. I am in no way shape or form saying the moderation is perfect. I have had random usernotes in the last week that have to be reversed. I will ask about my most recent one too because I have a post from a current member of General Management saying a similar thread is OK. Leniency in some respects is better. If it was up to me everyone would be a super mod and respected users. They do a fabulous job though and being one myself I know it's not very rewarding so hat off to them :)

Well strict moderation equals professionalism equals giving Habboxforum a good reputation among other fansites. It's not as bad as it seems anyway. MattGarner just loves it when I break the rules doncha? ;) Lol kidding I've stopped :)

Okay so say if I made 30 threads in fashion and clothes within 15mins and they are all legitimate questions about fashion and clothes, would that be perfectly fine?

yes? why should it matter if you wait 10mins before posting or do it straight away?! if they were legitimate and differing from one another then yup.

woo go mikey :) you wouldn't get that now (even before the 15 min merge update) would just be a user note. nice they're more lenient on mistakes like that because more often than not it's the new users who make those mistakes :)

Well it's a PM really, not the usernote that counts. In those cases the usernote is purely posted to simply ensure the mod is doing their job correctly - I can't spy on their PMs to new members otherwise!
I can remember when I first became a mod we had to send PM's and add usernotes for people posting in the wrong place - this soon changed though :)

Well I guess so as it stands at the moment as long as you did not block up the new posts view. :)

Lenience is the mod policy, we're just here to keep things on the straight and narrow, we don't get too worked up about little things anymore.
