Right so, the iPad is getting launched on Friday, I think. First thing I did with mine was jailbreak it, so I thought I'd give anyone help to jailbreaking it.
The Tool
Spirit, is currently the best and easiest method for jailbreaking the iPad. It's completely free, untethered, and I guess if you want works for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3.1.3.

Top Jailbreak Apps (That work on iPad)
Cydia fully works on the iPad and looks pretty good too. But here's a list of apps that do work, and work nicely.
Backgrounder - Backgrounder still works fine on the iPad, but sometimes quits apps unexpectedly. Lets you multitask.
SBSettings - Creates a dialogue that lets you turn things on and off - like 3G, WiFi, Brightness, etc by swiping along the statusbar.
Installous - Not that I condone this app, but it does work fine on the iPad. You'll have to add something to Cydia, Google to find out.
Winterboard is pretty pointless at the moment, iFile appears to work fine.
Post if you know any other good jailbreak apps that work on the iPad.
Hope this helps anyone.
