A singing duo have been dropped from this year's semi-finals of 'Britain's Got Talent' because one half of the act has a link with a double murder.
Othelio singer Deborah Stephens failed to tell the show's producers that her former partner Michael Maddison murdered two men with a baseball bat in the 1992 killing.
Although Deborah played no part in the murders, relatives of the victims were outraged when they saw her appear on the talent show with her husband Craig several weeks ago.
Now the show's producers have decided to remove them from the series ahead of next week's live semi-finals.
A show insider told The Sun: "Bosses felt there was too much focus on their past than their actual act. This scrutiny wouldn't be beneficial to them.
"The fact they didn't tell us about their past didn't help. We could have planned how to deal with it but instead it came out of the blue."
A spokesperson for the show said in a statement: "I can confirm that Othelio won't be progressing further on the show. We have a duty of care and felt it was best they didn't continue."
