Hey,

Before I continue I am unaware if you get the habbox merit or any other thing after being t Habbox for 5 years, however..

I was thinking that people who have been at habbox for 5 years perhaps they should also get a userbar saying 'Long Term Service' or something as a little extra for staying at Habbox for so long. This doesn't really effect me, as I think I have like 1 and a half years to wait but I think it would be a nice way to say thank you :)

Any thoughts on that?

You just get the anniversary VIP for 3 months... I suggested something like this before and got flamed for it ;)

Maybe because people thought you only posted for your own benefit - that's why I made it clear it didn't effect me haha.

It is just an idea, which in my opinion would be good, as let's be honest not that many people will stay for 5 years..

I can see where you're coming from, but I think 3 months gold VIP is enough. The Habbox Merit people get this bar because they've either been (dept) management for x amount of time or have made a special contribution to Habbox.

I don't think 3 months is very long if that's all you get. I reckon you should get like 6 months.

Yeah, but once the VIP has run out, you have nothing to show for it.

I agree with this idea, and a permanent userbar would be a nice thing to have. :)

VIP is a large privilege nowadays and people find it hard to even get one month, yet alone 3. It may not be the biggest gesture in the world, but it's enough. We don't have any badge system or anything on the forum so we can't use that. Also, there is a veterans group you can join. I was very happy with my 3 months when I had it and thought it was a wonderful gesture.

They have the Join Date section to show, I just dont think this warrents a special userbar.

You could always create a group or something? (unless there already is one)

Interesting idea. Although we may be implementing something 'like' this but in a different way regarding how long people have been registered for, just wait and see! ;)

There is one now. It was created when I suggested we get a userbar :D

There we go - you have a special section on your profile that displays that you have been registered 5 years+ :D

Yes, as Matt says we are planning something which may be helpful in recognising how long people have been members for, not even just those registered 5+years! :)

Oh the ex-staff one I did apply for that since I was community manager and am me (which really should be a merit in itself) but Sam wouldn't let me because I wouldn't whip it out on cam

It's not large privilege really. If members stocked up when they have the chance. Such as the world cup this year and xmas every year :P

And who cares about groups here? I mean it is possibly the worst thought out idea ever implemented on habbox lol

On a good note nice to hear something like this is happening. I have an idea what you mean too Matt o.O

I don't think it is elitism. More a recognition of the time people have been on the forum and indeed this will span across those who have been here from 1 year and longer. I recognise we need to do more for new members but I also think it's easy to forget those who are still here and have been for a long time and this is not something we are about to do :D.

Yeah but when you visit the forum and see the cool stuff people have got from being here for 4/5 years (I know I'll be ok because this account has been here for 3yrs+, so dom can't use his depleted argument about how i'm being selfish or whatever he rambles about) you're bound to be put off and see it as unreal. I think the recent changes have been good but it has been met with a step back (by the sounds of it) making it even more daunting for new users.

I don't think it's a step back as it's not something I think will make the forum massively more amazing to use than if you've just signed up. It's more recognition than any additional benefits and I think this is more than fair enough for members who have been around for a while :).

Erm are you now SERIOUSLY suggesting that new users get put off because they see what nice things you get if you stay? I would have thought that would be a reason for them to stay :l

And didn't you used to be like AGM of Community? You never used to want all these big changes..

I'll reserve further judgement until I see the feature.

Yes, I did. I +repped every single new member, often gave them furni on Habbo, tried to get the rep system changed, gave them all access to chat (was originally going to be staggered like every feature atm). Admittedly, that failed but the thought was there. Also, when I was management, Habbox was the most active habbo forum so things didn't need changing to such an extent.

You can't seem to grasp the
F
A
C
T
that new members don't hang around.

You can't seem to understand that new member's in most circumstances apart from when Habbox was originally around, new members never have stuck around, and probably never will. I would love to go by all the ludicrous 'equal rights' crap that you seem to have suddenly got so strongly about since your return and do all the changes you ay for one month, just to show you that members still won't stick around.

Hate to tell you but when you were at HabboForum (you know the one you loved for a short time), it wasn't you that got it popular.

And virtually no new members give a damn about getting a +rep at first.

Who was it that saw it had more posts than HxF and CHF some days and consecutively more posts than HFFM in the 10 or so weeks I worked there? Out of curiosity.
