do you even have to be physically involved with someone to be cheating? if you're thinking of other people you probably shouldn't be with your partner, should you?
what about lovebites? my friend got one from someone who was taken and his girlfriend said it wasn't cheating in her book lol whereas when i got them (yes they're vile and painful can't understand why people like them) everyone that knew who it was from were like "ooh his gf won't be happy"
i've been asked for "just" a kiss (which never leads to more cause i have a little respect for myself -cough-) from guys who have girlfriends as though it means nothing
so what counts as cheating and would you hook up with someone who's taken? i've only cheated twice (only lol) but i've been with people who are cheating. probably why i'm not seen as girlfriend material but just booty call, my bad.

That's the same thing really. If no-one knows it's not a problem, ignorance is bliss etc. and that's totally true

Wouldn't cheating be counted as if you're thinking or actually dating the person? If you're dating someone and have thoughts about someone else I think you should break up/forget that person. Would be best, sometimes it's hard and it sucks. :|

Shouldn't really be in a relationship in the first place if your cheating. I'd say thinking about someone is alright but not putting it into practice. If your unhappy with a relationship you should end it. Friendly love is alright like hugs and kisses on the cheek but that is about it.
anything more than a kiss on the cheek I regard as cheating.
i class it as sleeping with someone..
but my last girlfreind like 8 months ago was pissed at me when i was texting this other girl and made me delete her and remove her from fb
now neither girl talks to me.

Agreed with FJ, not getting caught. That said I'm normally quite faithful.

I'd consider flirting cheating if I could easily tell the person I'm with likes the other person, and where flirting happens this is usually the case :P

this i guess. :P depends on the situation
Id consider cheating as actually dating them, flirting isn't always used to say "I love you" theres times when it has to be done to cheer the person up.

You can flirt in a very subtle way, yes. Though it's usually very easy to differentiate between a casual and romantic sort of flirting.
Flirting like mad and forgetting about your partner, it's not cheating but it's bad enough.

My best friend has a boyfriend but at a party she kissed someone else. We both class it as cheating, although she thinks it's okay because she was 'drunk'.
Generally speaking, anything more than flirting. Like a kiss or sleeping with someone else, a one night stand etc.

I agree with this but like if you like seriously want someone else (not just a bit of lust but continuously!) I think instead of cheating the right thing to do is break up with whoever you're with, it's obviously not going to work if you want someone else
