Now now hear me out. I know that you believe that swearing shouldn't be allowed because it makes the forum look ugly n such, well about just in videos/photos. Obviously if used offensively then appropriate action will be taken, like with anything. I just find it a bit annoying that photos/videos that are actually pretty funny (i know you can link them and warn blahblahblah, but that kind of removes the wittiness of some of them) cant be posted because of a silly rule. Atleast thats what i think.

Discusssss?

i thought its allowed aslong as its in a spoiler and a small 'warning this contains swearing' tag? so it aint really any effort just the click the spoiler and thats it.

I think there should be relevant warning because a lot of our users are youngsters, we have users of the ages of 11, 12, 13, 14 and if these warnings are there then they know that they shouldn't click the spoiler and if they do then that's their problem - if their parents complain then we can say that the warnings were there.

We have to cater for the younger audience we have and this is something that will not be getting changed any time soon.

Do you really think it's going to be changed on a forum that has pictures of flowers on the skin and treats the users like they've never heard a swear word before..
nawwwwww

Seriously, if 'youngsters' havent heard a swear word before then they must live in a cave. I think i was taught about sex in year 5, thats like 9 years old. I remember knowing swear words then and i wasnt the only one. You're being pretty unfair to the youngsters. Oh and also, this is the internet. Seriously porn and swear words are everywhere. I'm not being unreasonable here, i dont want it everywhere, but just a lil bit :p.

i read it after i posted, but having a spoiler/warning doesn't really make any difference or removes a 'wittiness of some of them' because if it's funny, then people will laugh. if it isn't, then obviously they won't. and as oli said, there are young members on here so the rules and content must take them into consideration.

Voted no. In videos you can spoiler/warn and that's fine, and I'm not certain on the current rule for pictures but it's just not needed really. If you allow it then people will just post a picture of swearing instead of typing it when they want to be ReBeLLIoUZZ

Meh, the warnings seem to be fine. I hardly doubt a warning ruins the point of a video or picture :P It's like people who OCD over spoiler tags because something that is so blatently obvious might ruin the plot, even though the thread no doubt makes reference to it and if you do not want to know something, you should probably not look at any pages to do with it.

But that's another story entirely :P

And last time I checked, the majority of users were 15-18?

For some reason, a lot of newer members signing up are a lot younger.

uhmmm, im 13 and i have heard swearing since a child, i think more children this age have heard swearing before, so i dont really agree with the fact you try to block out swearing when its used in real life, but i guess others could have a problem..

It's also got to be remembered is that one reason we disallow blatent swearing at Habbox Forum is because we don't think it looks good - in a spoiler it's hidden and people choose to view it, if it's not in a spoiler you are not giving people the choice to view it or not.

I think you should allowed swearing in posts (in the video/spoiler) with a warning in bold and a spoiler. If they have that, they shouldn't get an infraction.

I know for a fact that if I played a video because I didn't get any warning and it started swearing etc, even now my mother would probably give me a swift slap for exposing my younger siblings to vulgar language :p. The same applies here, some of our younger members might sit there and innocently choose to watch a video, only to find it's full of bad language. If their parents hear that, they may be punished for it.

Further to that, we do have a lot of younger members. Yes our current member base may be older, but at the end of the day we do still have young members and some of those don't appreciate swearing.

Finally, I don't really want to see Habbox full of vulgar and inappropriate videos. The warnings do little to hinder the posting of videos and as preposterous said if a video is funny, a warning about the language within it is really not going to affect the viewers' opinion of it.

I get your point now because people sign up to habbox from the age of 10 which is pretty young so yeah, I understand that if I actually think about it.

I vouch the fact that Garion's mum is scary so if other people have parents like that then I can totally understand why they'd need warning before blasting out a profane video

No. Because frankly I dont want to see those quirky users of ours posting pictures with captions like "Frankly, my dear I don't give a ####" in response to others.

You know the scene, it's made it onto t-shirts.

To be fair Oli's first post summed it up - there's no way around it.
