Is it ok to have a computer tower on the carpet? I have no room on my desk and its the only place it can go.

Also whats good for cable management?

There's no reason why it can't, usually it's unwise to put laptops on carpets/laps because they overheat easily as their fans blow underneath, but towers blow out the back so it should be fine.

For keeping cables tidy, a search through any computer shop (or 99p shop at that) can easily get you plastic tubing that you slot the cables into to keep them under control. Alternatively you can buy desks which have a small shelf underneath at the back for all your cables.

Although danzooo is right, doesn't it have little feet so it's raised off the ground a little bit anyway?

Yeh it does. Also, theres 2 intake fans on the side that its facing towards the wood of the desk. There is a 2-3 inch gap between it and the wood. Would i be best moving it to the other side where the intake fans are not blocked as such?

Yes you would. Probably a good idea to fit some dust filters to intakes too.

Are they easy to fit? Where do you buy them?

Example. I have them integrated into my case, but I guess you just screw them between the chassis and the fan. The amount of dust the filters on my case collects is unbelievable, definitely worth buying them!

I prefer removing a handful of dust from my filters than having to scrape it off heatsinks lol. Not that I ever clean my computer though, I don't clean anything :D

Yes your probably better moving your machine to the other side too - better to be safe than sorry.

Okay, I have moved it to the other side. Now, is there a way off telling me how fast the fans are going and the temp of the CPU? I have 2 fans.

Speedfan.

can you control fan speed?

If the fans are plugged into the 3 pin fan sockets on the motherboard, you might be able to.

Otherwise you could wire up speed control to go on the front/back of your case.
