Kinda following on from Paul's thread, rather than asking whether you would give it to charity, the question is...

What would you do with the money?

I would personally give about £100-150k to my parents to get a bigger house and nice car. I'd put myself in the best private school I could and would buy myself the best education possible and probably go on a few holidays with friends/family too. I doubt I'd give that much else away, just the odd thing to friends and close family members and charities.

Get myself a nice house after university, keep the rest to build up interest and live quite a normal life with a normal job to keep myself entertained but with a few perks :)

donate a total of £20,000 to various charities around the country. give £150k to my parents. like a tenner to my sister.
put the rest in the bank and carry on with life as normal, only using it when i need to.

i'd pay off my mums mortgage, carry on living on we live now but with more expensive splurges occasionally. then when i go uni, live in halls, then where ever after. after uni, i'd rent a fancy apartment because i may relocate so don't wanna settle down anywhere. i wouldn't give my friends anything because you give them an inch and they'll take a mile - no matter how good of a friend they are.

and tbh 1 million doesn't go that far if you spend a lot on a regular basis anyway.

Buy a bigger house here, house in the West as well. I'd give quite a lot to family. I'd only spend the rest when I need to.

Put it in a bank and enjoy the interest which would be around £40,000 a year if you find the right bank.

firstly sort myself out, buy a house & car, furnish it & buy myself the latest gadgets & clothes i've longed for. after that, i'd buy my mum & dad a hosue each & buy a car for everyone else in my family (as well as gadgets etc) with what i have left i would put it into a bank account and wait for the intrest (cash) to inrease

First, thng ill do is give 23k to a mate who has 6 month to lives, and it costs 23 thousand pounds to cure him.

secondly, sort my dad and mum out

thirdly, sister and her kids

fourthly, buy a few gadgets for myself + take EVERYONE on holiday ;)

I'd pay off my mums morgage of about 50k, spend 50k on myself and family, maybe a holiday somewhere nice, a new wardrobe etc. Put the 895k in the bank and the other 5k in my card cash so I can spend like £100 a week when I want to. Then have a blast at uni, live in halls first yr etc. Pay off all my debt and get a job. Buy a 600k house outright and still have 200k + a salary coming in.

I'd prefer one of those "£10,000 a month for life" things.

pretty much the same as yours - give some to parents, buy a house, keep the rest to build up interest and live a normal life with a normal job.

and give some to charity

buy my way into an american uni sounds pretty good. i'd be tempted to live off the interest but probs is that in the future the value of money will be lower so cant live off £40k forever.

I would probably live off the interest, if not i'd get the house gutted and just start over again (wouldnt want to move) - the rest i'd probably invest in shares and just live off whatever the buying and selling generates income wise.

i'd pay for loads of immigrants to come over here and buy the houses next door to Dan for them.

1. Put about 3/4 away and live on interest.
2. Move house and get out of Manchester ASAP
3. Invest in the family buisness ASAP
4. Buy myself a PB bag (what can I do :P)
5. Save it till I'm 21 spending the odd tenner :D

First I'd buy myself a nice house and a car. Then I'd make sure I have all the essentials like furniture etc. I'd make sure my wife and kids are well dressed and that theres food in the house.

The rest I'd give to my parents.

Give about 100k each to my parents and 50k to my siblings. The rest? Get a nice little house, get a norm car - probably an Audi A3, get a nice TV, buy some games and generally have fun. Keep working though.

I'd put it in the bank to get interest but would probably just get addicted to the amount of interest I'm getting and never spend any of it :P
