Some people have been telling me that it takes a while to acquire a taste. The only beer I can drink is Budweiser. Everything else tastes really bad. Does it take a while to like other beers?

for me it doesn't take a lot of time to get used to a beer. But that might be the Australian-ness. Obviously some beers are stronger then others, compare the colour of say budweiser to asashi(the Japanese one?), the darker the colour the more flavour there is IMO..

Budweiser is disgusting it's like salty water. That said I don't like any beers really anyway, and I'm quite thankful considering how fattening it is compared to wines and spirits

Budweiser is the only beer I can stand.
I can drink most cider and alcopops but I'd Bud tastes nicer.

I don't really mind any kind of drink, but if I was to buy it personally, it'd either be fosters or cider strongbow.

Cider > Beer/lager. I am a proper Devonshire dumpling. I will drink beer/lager if I'm already drunk and past the point in caring. I could drink it but it makes me sick and bloated. White wine is the way to go (lmao)

Same as above, only drink if I'm already drunk. Beer is disgusting.
I never used to like it, now I love it. Well, aslong as the pipes are cleaned :P

I'm not a fan of lager, I find it too sweet and sickly. I normally drink cider but I've developed a love for tanglefoot ale. It's so nice. It's like a not so strong lager taste (well my mum thinks it's stronger than lager in taste :S) but it's got a nice refreshing fruity taste to it. First time I've drank a brand of ale for the first time and loved it. I like guinness aswell. Took me a while to get used to it but now when I have a can in the fridge I just can't wait to have it

I would agree that it takes a while. I remember trying different ones when I first started drinking and ended up drinking Fosters all the time, but I got sick of it after a while and started drinking Guinness on and off. Then went to Dublin on Paddy's Day and was drinking it all day and night and always drank it since. I could make a list of stuff I hated the first time I tried them like Stella, Carlsberg, Carling but I'll probably give them another chance now that I'm older. I've only drank Bud out of a bottle and it's not too bad but to be fair everything seems different out of bottles and easier to drink. Pretty much just hate cider. I think Magners was alright so I'd take that if I had to but Strongbow is vile

NOOO ROB..... STELLA, FOSTERS, GUINNESS.... ALL VILEEEEEEEEE.

I know Stella is vile!!!! I find Fosters refreshing now and again if I haven't had it for ages but I find Guinness nice and light. On boiling hot days when I'm gasping for a drink I used to always get a coke first but now I can just neck a Guinness and it's amazingggggg you'll grow into it Jake :D

yeah my mates who like guinness say it's awesome but urghhh i can't handle the taste. bulmers/magners/gaymers will do me. rd + vodka when i'm in clubs though and generally an original bulmers if i'm at a pub

If you're a cider man you probably wouldn't. All my cider friends hate it but those who drink it or at least sometimes drink it generally drink larger and ale anyway.

Cheap cider, especially strongbow are vileeee though. Can't drink strongbow even if I'm drunk.

Only reason why people who drink cider don't like anything else is because the taste of cider isn't bad on the tastebuds to start with like other stuff. I know some people drink guinness warm and stuff but the coldest of coldest guinness is so refreshing on a hot day, it's better than drinking an ice cold coke
