because the spam section is well... spam, wouldn't it be better if reputation was disabled in this forum? all the posts & messages are pointless which then makes the reputation pointless, which is against forum rules

i apologise if this has been mentioned before

posts/threads aren't always pointless in spam though. there are occasionally good threads which promotes discussion.

there are plenty of good posts in there, and some which deserve rep

Yeah, I guess a post doesnt have to be the most amazingly put together post in the world to deserve reputation and as Oli said, you can give reputation for posts which make you laugh/smile/make you happy inside etc. Spam is one of the busiest sections of the forum, and I think a lot of very good posts are made there, be them funny, clever or just people making really nice comments etc.
