Driver is Back and by the looks from the teaser trailer on its offical site (which looked like the training mission from the first game only in a different vehicle) I'd have to say that it actually looks promising and going back to the first games roots. Players will be playing as John Tanner like in the original driver game. There is another teaser linked onto the facebook page which you can get to from the link above that when clicked on the i Like button, will show u a different trailer which confirmed the characters name

The trailer on the facebook page is exactly the same trailer, only they added 5 seconds of the guy showing his California card with the name of John Tanner

Woah woah woah! What platform is that? The PlayStation didn't have car alarms nor did it say when you completed a manoeuvre (it just struck it off the list). I downloaded the original game on my PS3, still play it quite often :P

To be honest I'd be happy if they just re-released driver on next-gen consoles, it was a perfect game in so many ways and I don't see reason to change it, as long as they don't let you get out of the car. ¬¬

Na I wouldn't play it, I use my PS3 for BBC iPlayer now and that's it really.

No, we want a modern trigger button to drive next-gen game. The original Driver was perfect the only problem these days is that it has graphics from the 90s and controls to match.

Well thats true, all that was said on the official site is that the game will be revealed at E3, meaning we might see some gameplay aswell :) and possibly, a redesign of the training mission from Driver 1

When it comes to the PS1 I only ever played Driver, Destruction Derby and THPS really, although I'd only really want Driver and DD since THPS was re-released a few times I think. xD

Hmm.. it's a shame its made by Ubisoft though, so unless it gets some very good reviews count me out.

It is still developed by the same studio in Newcastle but Ubisoft bought it a few years ago, so as long as Ubi don't hamper their creativity it should be fine.

I'm getting quite sick of 'rebooting' or 'new enfranchising' old movies/games. They did it with Rocky, which I thought was okay, but with Rambo it was really confusing talking about which films.

'Driver' is already out, I don't want another. It's like the 'Prince of Persia' game, at least have some imagination.

Well if they're remaking it, it would make more sense to call it 'Driver: [subtitle here]'. Then even though that wouldn't be numbered, the next one after it (if they made another) would be called Driver 6 (because we have Driver, Driver 2, Driv3r, Driver: Parallel Lines, then this one) In fact, in the US Driv3r is the only one which hasn't had a subtitle.

That's doesn't sound great because it suggests it will be the original game but limited to the one city instead of all four. Although San Francisco was my favourite and it could mean they plan to release a new game for each city... :D

The gameplay and handling looks good, but it seems like they've made this only due to demand and to make some cash from it because the graphics seem very 2006/2007.
