Got bored, so rather than revising I decided to make a "thank-me" system for forums.
It's like rep, but it's independent to the forum, so you can use the same one on lots pages/forums :)
It works really simply, just go here (no registration needed): http://apolva.com/thanks
I have one in my sig, and any feedback would also be useful :)

Maybe give the signature pic a transparent background but other than that it seems very good and I may add one to my signature :D +rep
EDIT
unable to +rep
& I was ready to post 'you can just keep thanking someone' but you have to wait 12 hours so that's good :D:P

Does this just keep counting and counting forever? Will it disappear if you clear cookies?
Very good idea, might add one to my sig later. I do agree on making it transparent though.

It's based on IPs, an IP can't vote for the same person (unique code) for another 12 hours.
Funnily enough, I just removed the transparency, because it looked really bad on dark backgrounds :S

Excellent idea, and it's just given me an idea for a project.
I need to spread before I can +rep you again though :(

That's actually really good, but I dislike the look of it. :(
Could I have a copy of the API or whatever so I can make it look how I want it to look? I understand if you don't, just asking anyway. :P

Just added a new, currently undocumented way of showing the picture:
Use: http://apolva.com/thanks/?in=65b9d2
Instead of: http://apolva.com/thanks/?is=65b9d2
This will show a transparent png image with just the number in blue: http://apolva.com/thanks/?in=65b9d2
Hope this helps :)

Since I can't edit last post here's a brief change:
Added option: http://apolva.com/thanks/?in=65b9d2&c=255,0,0
where &c can set the rgb colour of the text (in this case red).
Also in the process of adding a &bg=false setting (probably done once you've read this)

I like the new modes and ability to change text color :D

It's a good idea, but annoying on peoples sigs if I am honest.
It's like the referral thing all over again
Do you create the animated images via GD? If so, how? Thanks.

I use this class, works a treat: http://www.phpclasses.org/package/3163-PHP-Generate-GIF-animations-from-a-set-of-GIF-images.html
