Anyone else watch it? Looks like it will be coming to an end soon.
FMA was one of my favorite anime ever, when Brotherhood came out, I was really disappointed that it wasn't a continuation and I hated it.
Later on in life though, I gave it another shot and I got hooked. One of my other friends was in the same boat but I convinced her to watch more and she got hooked too.
Anyway, I just noticed that episode 61 is out so I'm going to watch that RIGHT NOW HOLY CRAP.
Well FMA brotherhood is the real storyline, and it's way better in my opinion compared to the first seris.

Think that's the one I watched (the other guys here might remember as I was probably being a nuisance with various questions :P). I've literally only ever watched two animes and loved FMA. I would love if it was made into a proper film (by proper I mean acted rather than animated).

Please God, no.

yea thats how you ruin a series by making a Live action. At most i'd be willing to have a CGI film because that way you can keep all the va's.
And the Full FMA manga i dno how much it would cost. £4.50 x 24. might get some volumes cheaper depending on where you look.

Basically all live action anime has been americanized and ruined. However, although Cowboy Bebop is my favourite series, I can see that perhaps it might make a good live action film, if everything goes well. However, it still won't be as awesome as the series itself.

I understand completely - I'd hate for Death Note to be remade (or what I've heard of sounds stupid anyway) but I can imagine FMA having awesome special effects kind of like that Prince of Persia movie that was released recently (I love the time travel effects in that).

Ah I forgot the Death Note live action, it wasn't -that- bad. Of course, they couldn't portray L perfectly, but they did try I guess. Although, my main concern is that they completely changed the story, and gave an excuse for a 3rd live action movie, revolving around L (which was just stupid).
Besides, the thing with live action movies is the issue of compressing the episodes into a decent storyline. In the case of something like FMA, Brotherhood is already a (in some points) compressed version of the manga, and yet it still spans 64 episodes, or roughly 20-30 hours. Compressing that into movies would really ruin the storyline. In respect with the Cowboy Bebop live action, although they'll have to compress 26 episodes, which will be roughly 10+ hours of footage, a large number of the episodes in the series, although awesome, are not important to plot development, so I can see them reasonably cutting it down to about 2 hours.

Fair comment - I'd be prepared to watch a trilogy though if they just did the whole story and cut it into three parts (like Kill Bill and the new Robin Hood movie).

Asain anime adaptations are arguably just as bad as Hollywood's. :P

1. Acting - Could be as terrible as Dragonball
2. Story - Could miss out parts or change scenes
3. Characters - Could get an actor who people don't feel is suited for the role or they could just not cast a character. Kuririn anyone?
4. Americanize it.
Probably more reasons why a live action would fail or cause rage in the fandom.
Like i said safe bet is cgi. looks good, can have special effects can keep the same voice actors everyones happy. apart from the picky people.

Predictably Brotherhood has zoomed to first place on MAL, as now it has a set amout of episodes users have to have seen at least 13 or more for their score to count. Therefore the scores of the people who dropped it in the early stages don't count. It'll probably get trolled down like Gintama before settling at a score probably 0.02 or 0.03 lower than it is now. It'll keep a very high spot nevertheless.
I am pleased with this result.
