hey so here it is

On this forum the traditional way of cahtting to people is either pm, profile or habbo. this is why i am asking is it possible to make a chatbox or widget like the one on facebook or the chat boxes on other forums?

i think it would be good as friends on the forum would be able to talk when they needed and it could aslo bring more users to this forum

We did have a chatbox quite some time ago but I think there were some security issues with it. It did get neglected a lot in the end.

We've had a chat system before, it was a mistake and a lot of money was wasted as a lot of users used it.

I think the thing is, Habbox Forum is a Forum and we're quite a traditional forum, people like there to be posts - and lots of them :P, even more abstract ways of posting such as in the Groups section is somewhat less preferred than posting traditionally on the Forum.

I quite like chatting via VMs but personal preferences aside, it's not really practical for a forum or at least this forum. After all as you say there are alternatives such as Habbo or MSN.
