hey,
basically my parents have said that I can have any handset I want on contract when mine is up at christmas.
I've been raving all year about the Nexus one phone but have decided on getting the Iphone 4 instead.

Just wondering what the contract prices will be including unlimited internet etc.

Does anyone know?

thanks cheryl!
i'm really confused about how much it will cost me still though, can't understand what it would be for like 200 minutes, unlimited texts and internet usage + how much i would need to pay for the phone too haha!

Because the iphone 4 is very hot news atm, carriers have not released much information and asked you to register interest.

o2 tarrif's are above, and yesterday Orange also released their tarrifs for the new iphone 4.
http://iphone.orange.co.uk/plans/

As for the o2 tarrifs, for the tariff you want it would be.
100 minutes
Unlimited Texts
500MB data [o2 no longer offer unlimited internet but 500MB is quite abit]
18 month - £30 per month & £209 for phone
24 month - £25 per month & £279 for phone

300 minutes
Unlimited Texts
500MB data
18 month - £35 & £179 for phone
24 month - £30 & £179 for phone

The above prices are for iphone 4 - 16GB.
However other networks like Vodafone, Three, Tesco mobile are yet to release their prices.

Not available for 200mins on O2.

For 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb internet data it would be £30 per month on a 24month contract and £35 for a 18 month contract.

HOWEVER you ALSO have to pay £179 for a 16gb iPhone 4 and £279 for a 32gb iPhone 4.

That is what the tariff would be for what you asked for :)

EDIT: Sorry for posting what Sunny said - was half way through posting before that post was there! Added the prices for 32gb for you though

I find it sick companies are allowed to charge the amounts they do for a phone.

Money like that could be spent so well.

Seems like o2 are pushing people away from 24 month contracts...

There prices dont make sense, the handset price is more on a 24 month contract. Surely it should be less.
Im getting really impatient about PAYG prices :(

Only orange have released the price for PAYG iphone 4. I rang them yesterday and they said pre-ordering would be available. Just didnt tell me when. They said it was meant to start today (yesterday) but then they were told not to go ahead and start. hmm

thanks everyone!

i'm also thinking, is the iphone 4 just a wifi version atm? or does it have like the equivilant internet as the 3g or 3gs?

The iphone 4 has Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities. Exactly like the iphone 3G and 3G S.

i shall quote what i said yesterday, which actually reveals true prices of phones (if youre upgrading of course) this is for PAYG though. Considering that they are basically mini computers, the prices arent half bad

the N97 you can sell for £120 at mazuma mobile. Now assuming you are upgrading to the N97 mini. This N97M costs £400 at CW. This means that the total phone price is, assuming you sell, £280. Ok, sounds alright.

Now, the 3GS 16GB. You can sell this for £227 on mazuma mobile. Assuming youre upgrading to the iPhone 4 16GB, the phone price costs £500. Ok, sounds a lot. But after selling, this price comes tumbling down to 273.

So, you get, imo, a better mobile, for a cheaper price.

@BobX, the iphone has 3G and edge afaik.

nope, apple release a new phone every year around June time. So it will be about 5 months if you buy at christmas lol

Mind you what most people do is sell their current iPhone as soon as the date for the new iPhone arrives.

iPhones dont really depreciate that much so really you can keep up to date with the latest phones for cheap.

I would rather buy a £500 netbook than a £500 phone (assuming it was payg..)

And upgrading? Believe it or not, not everyone who's gets phones like iphones upgrade to it lol.. I can't get my head around how £99 for a phone on a £75 contract for 18 months is worth it.. that's like what? £1450

Here we go, this is what I know:

Orange say their internet is unlimited, but is infact 750mb
Vodafone are doing 1GB as standard for all pay monthly

O2 are doing different caps, but all the sensible pay monthly costs are 500mb. When you get your iPhone 4, you'll have unlimited internet until October 1st when the caps come in and then you can pay an extra £5 per month to bump it up.

Visit Carphone Warehouse's website they've got all 3 networks crunched down into nice boxes.
