View Full Version : Getting the New xbox 360 ... +rep
Basically,
I have an xbox 360 20gb and want live on it, and was going to get it this week but then they announced the new xbox.
So i was thinking, do you guys think that it will be worth me just selling my xbox and saving the money i would have spent on a wireless adapter and adding the 2 to buy the new xbox?
Also does anybody know if the £199 price that the xbox is at is the presale price (and will therefore rise after pre-sale period)
or is it the price it will remain at?
+rep for helpful and useful answers.

You probably won't get much for yours but if you can afford the rest it would probably be a good idea to use it as contribution to a new one because they're just better - built-in wifi, quieter, smaller, HOWGEEEE memory... dunno what else but all that would be enough for me to go ahead :P
Yeah, im hoping i can get around £100 for my one, im adding all the cables, the original box, a 256mb memory card, a wireless controller and a wired controller and assassins creed.
atm im only trying to sell it on facebook to people, might put it on ebay?

If it's all in good nick then eBay is probably your best shot. From what I can tell it's not worth trying to reason with GAME/GameStation, although it might be worth checking out what they'll do for you part-ex for a new one (if they have any).
oh yeah, i forgot about part exchanges, thanks black apalachi!

Yeah, I think I'd rather sell your xbox and then save up the remainder and get the new one, in the long run it'll be cheaper because new hard drives and the wireless adapter aren't cheap
yeah, just having a problem trying to sell it :(
dunno how i would ship it if i sold it on ebay

You won't get anywhere near £100 on eBay in my opinion. Game sell preowned Xbox 360's with 20GB hard drives for £89.

No problem :)

Just find out how much it will cost you to ship and put that as the delivery cost on your listing or you could just say pick-up only but that will obviously limit your market to your local area.

yeah but im adding 2 controllers, a game with it and a memory card
That's absolutely nothing though. The value of technology plummets the second you buy it never mind 4 or 5 years and 2 or 3 hardware revisons later.

I sold a 360 premium (everything with it) with like 20 games for like £230.
Use www.cex.co.uk (http://www.cex.co.uk)
i did try cex but they dont appear to be buying? :(
They will have (already) been flooded with 360's, especially 20GB ones.

Omg really, my 360 elite is only like 3 months old. Might do this :p
You get £140 off for a 80GB Phat PS3? Seems strange, I'd assume they would only want (as in stock) the slim and the old 60GB ones. Will do this though if its true.
EDIT: Any idea how much they take for the old a/b/g (white) WiFi connector?

thats what i have atm lol. . .but i dont really want to give in my hard drive like. . . since everything is saved on it. . .
I'm sure they used to let you keep it while you transfered your data over then hand it in or something similar.

They phased that one out and replaced it with a black one, so I guess not much.
Rang GAME today and its £20 for the WiFi and strangely they won't take money off for my USB hinge being broken on the faceplate.

Should kidnap them all.

Game are doing an offer, if you trade in your old style xbox, the new xbox will be half price, so £100.

Pre-ordered mine a few days ago :)
Whoa, whoa, whoa, what? All those prices are lower than both GAME on the phone and someone in this thread stated.
