I've been doing some searching and can't seem to find any answers to this.

I've been planning to buy an ATI card over an Nvidia recently due to the improvements in performance and power consumption compared to Nvidia cards.

However, 3D gaming is something i'm sure the high end ATI cards would easily handle, but ATI hasn't endorsed stereoscopic 3D gaming like Nvidia has and there is nowhere which says that it does or doesn't work with ATI cards.

Does anyone have any more info on this?

I don't really think it matters, I'm not answering your question but the fact is I don't think many, if any big titles at all, will really embrace 3D technology in PC gaming.

Crysis 2. And 90% of games since 2005 are automatically compatible with 3D anyway.

Nice stat, where's that from? I've heard very few games benefit from the 3D effect, most just give you eye strain. Games with big environments like WoW tend to work well. Of course, Crysis 2 is probably built with 3D in mind so will utilise it much better.

I think 3D for ATI cards is coming out within the next few driver updates. May be 10.7 (July)
