Medicine is getting more and more advanced, hopefully such breakthroughs will continue as it will make lives better for many :)!

If it's still cornea damage (I don't know much about blindness, I must confess) then I can't see it being too long before they're able to sufficiently manipulate healthy stem cells from close family to at least give them partial sight. Huge step for medicine here, and one that I'm definitely for. I can think of very little that would be scarier than going blind frankly, massive respect for those who manage to live well with it.

Great news!

I saw a cure for another kind of blindness a few months back in the paper, which was a little camera going straight to the brain!

Because when people go naturally blind, its normally a lot more complicated, with your nerves and inside of your eye, not just the surface or retina like if you have an accident.
