Wrong.

A series of Dr Who won't take up anywhere near 16GB unless it's all in HD, heck I have 3 seasons of The Big Bang Theory (a mix of HD/SD) and they take up 11GB, and you can use any iPad on a plane, you just wont have any 3G or WiFi access unless the plane is one of those new ones with base stations fitted.

If they moan about mobile phones, just switch it to Airplane mode.

Based on my files;

720p Doctor Who each episode is roughly 1.6GB
480x272 (iPhone resolution for 16:9 videos) are about 200MB each, although I believe these are compressed.

I imagine DVD quality rips would be about 500 to 600MB each.

You do know that if you give your iPhone to o2 to recycle they'll give you £160 for it?

Agreed, unless you're sixth form and can keep it with you ALL THE TIME.

Ah, cool. & yeah, I took it in to do my IT work on :\

Luckily, I had Find My iPhone which helped find it, kinda. The next day, someone was all like "do you want to buy an iPad" to some dude who took it off him and gave it back. ;D

Just feel that I should point out that I got £230 for my iPhone 3G 18GB on Ebay a week ago, even if you have an 8GB you should get £200. :)

My local bestbuy just got an iPad in (we don't have an Apple store). I'm contemplating between buying either an iPad or MacBook when I can afford one. I want to know how long my N1 will last if I tether to the iPad.

How good is the battery life of a MacBook compared to that of an iPad, though. That and the price difference is what's making me question what to get.

My MacBook was in the "6-hour" generation of MacBooks and I manage to get 5 1/2 hours, I don't see why you couldn't get close to the advertised 10 with a MB nowadays.

You can't really compare the iPad and the MacBook though, really, especially as the iPad hasn't got multitasking yet, when it does it might be much better and might compete with the MB a bit more.
