I currently have Sky but my mum is thinking about moving back to Virgin Media as it's a cheaper alternative. They're currently doing a full package which would supply me with XXL broadband, a buy two boxes get one three deal and they offer the phone service for £114 monthly. My mum currently pays £160 a month for SkyTV & other(s) but I think she's pretty much settled with going back to Virgin Media.

What packages do you have and why?

I'm on Virgin Media, trust me, it was the worst decision we could make so we're moving back to Sky...
Sure, virgin has Catch Up On Demand, but half of the time it doesn't work and they get the programmes mixed up... I once turned on Emmerdale only to end up watching Casualty!
So we're moving back to Sky, and it's the best thing ever... + Virgin has a hella lot less channels, and chances are you'll regret going to them, their customer support thing is horrible too, once my mother was on the phone to some polish guy for over an hour, only to get told they couldn't think of any solutions to the freezing...

Why did you only put on two options & other? Limited much?! :P

And I have Top Up TV Anytime, which is just awful.

i've been with virgin since they opened as ntl. i've never had any problems with them and their support has been next to nothing for us, it's great.

my broadband is reliable, quick and yeah just good compared to a sky broadband i used at someone else's house, supposed to get 20mb and they got 4. whereas i get what i am paying for.

I'm with Virgin Media, been with them ever since the days of Cable & Wireless > NTL and now VM. The reasons we are still with them today is because we get good service, packages and the support hasn't been that bad really. We are currently on the XL package I think? We have a V+ box so we can record and what not and we have the 20mb broadband package, so we can surf the internet with ease!

Nothing really wrong with Virgin Media if you are in a cable area! Never been a big issue for us.

This is for me as well. We had NTL, brief period with sky then Virgin when the name changed. Support has been really good for the odd time we need to make a query, we have 3 Virgin boxes (2 v+ 1 normal) and if they break, Virgin come to replace/repair.

Can't complain at 20 mb broadband, best phone package and best TV package along with 3 boxes for £90 a month.

I much prefer Sky. Their sole service is just Sky, whereas Virgin provide other services, so Virgin Media won't always be priority.

Virgin media boxes are slow compared to Sky's. It takes ages to scroll through and change channels.

I seriously reccoment Virgin Media :S I've never had any real problems with it on On Demand - Free songs on XL and Catch Up is great for me :)

What? Sky do Sky TV, Sky Broadband, Sky Talk (phone), Sky Songs, Team Sky Cycling.
