How shy are you?

On average people are inconstant with telling me how shy/not shy I am. A lot of people act differently online than in real life, so I thought it would be interesting to see how you would rate your shyness in real life. Be honest!

Well, my asperges makes me shyer/more ignorant in real life, and when I first started High School I was the one not talking to anyone for days, so I'd say 2/10? But then like a week later I started to make more and more friends, then became the loudest in the class... (Still am lololol)

In Real Life = 2/10
Online = 10/10

When i'm around my friends in real life i'm really not shy... Like if I have 10 friends and 1 non-friend I don't talk at all. I'm really scared of how others will think of me... and online i'm open because I don't care what people think of me it's not like I have to know them so yeah :P

I'm pretty inconsistent. I get shy in a large group of people so i tend not to talk much, but with one of 2 ppl i can be somewhat loud. I can talk to people i dont really know in my school, but then new people i meet out of that then its kind of 50/50 with how i act, can be shy, can be normal. So yeh... inconsistent.

This but on a higher scale, I have to reallyyyyyyy know someone to be confident around them. I won't talk to someone I'm not familiar with unless they talk to me first, and even then it will be like 1-5 word answers.

Online i'm really confident because i don't really care what people think of me, because they don't know me and can't judge me, and that's why i like online life etc. :)

I'm fairly sociable in rl and I can just go up and say hello to a stranger.I was a lil shy back then but being actively involved in many activities including meeting new people boosted my confidence greatly :).Plus,I just like meeting new people and having many new friends preferably outside of my college.Be more interesting and more fun to hang out with!

I suppose I'm just as confident as I am in rl and online :)

I'm not really shy in real life when it comes to asking someone for the time, or asking someone in a shop for help (all of my friends refuse to do that). I'm just wary of new people I meet in real life, if they don't look like my type of friend, I tend not to be the one starting the convo. In school I try not to be shy because if you're shy and don't talk people think they can take advantage, so if I don't feel like talking in a group I don't want to be in, I just sit there and my body language sends out all the right signals.
Online there isn't any shyness :D

the bigger the group, the less i'll say:P i don't have a problem with talking to people i don't know, its just like what can i say to them when i dont know them at all?! but then when we find something to talk about it's a completely different story. i prefer smaller groups of like 3/4 because then you like all talk together in the group, whereas if it was a bigger group of say 10, people tend to split off into smaller groups talking so you may as well be in a small group anyway. and when alcohols involved i'll talk to anyone at all like my 21 year old new friend called char who goes to uni and is going to live in hong kong with a friend for a year but was worried cus they dont like having sex til marriage and she was like omg i cant go a year without that and she didnt want people from uni knowing she smokes cus noneof them like it. soyeh not really that shy. used to be mega shy when i was younger though. spose my work makes me more confident aswell since i have to talk to like a million people a day

but online i just say anything and dont give a toss :)

Inconsistent. I can speak in public and to people I don't know (I tend to get along better with people older than me for some reason) but generally I prefer to sit with the people I know and don't branch out much more than that.

This is reflected online too - I prefer to read rather than post :)

Just because you're shy, it doesnt mean you don't have many friends lol
& just because you're not shy doesn't mean you have many friends lol i.e me;) if it was "are you sociable or unsociable?" i'd say i'm not.

i'm very judgemental and dislike literally everyone first time i meet them, i'm not snobby i just have mega trust issues(A) i'm not the type of person to give people a chance before i dislike them, i'd rather not waste my time and prefer if they sorta prove they're worthy or are going to be good friends (*cough* stepping stones *cough*).

i'm the loudest within my group of friends (and my friends are really sociable so i get to meet loads of different people but when i'm drunk everyones my best friend and judgement goes out the window, only for that night though), i'll answer if people ask me anything - not always nicely & ask if i need something. i don't talk to people to be friendly and i much prefer being in a smaller group of people, it doesn't make me shy nor does it make me sociable;)

same as online, probably disliked most the people i like now (H) & just because i talk to you doesn't mean i'm trying to be nice...

I have quite a few friends and quite a few close friends who i'm not shy around. If im in a group with some friends and some people I don't really know I'm not that shy but i tend not to make conversation with the person I don't know, but I don't mind talking to people I don't know but I am more comfortable talking to people who know me well and who I know well. On the internet I would say no one is shy because they are hid behind the moniter so they don't have to be comfronted by anyone. but like i am quite shy in some aspects because I don't really like just talking to other people who i've never met even though my friends find it easy.

But if I'm drunk I am too confident, like I don't care what people think about me even though when I'm sober I do care quite a bit about what people perceive of me so I'm quite weary as too how I act, although I don't care what my close friends think off me because they know me anyway.

I'm really confident around freinds / freinds of freinds / family and online but as soon as im with someone i want to impress or make a good impression i go into total shy mode and can never do any of my joking self incase they dont find it funny XD

A couple of years ago I would only talk to people I knew. I'd go up to the odd person for a laugh and start talking to them but not really introduce myself fully and call them a "friend"
Basically though, this past year (being the Head Boy), I had to do speeches to large groups of people, to prove I was worthy of the position :P This really improved my confidence and I really have no problem talking to anyone, no matter how long I've known them or how large the group is.

Totally depends. If I'm around someone I don't know (mainly adults) then I'll seem awkward and a bit rude probably but if I'm around people I know well or anyone who's my age then I'm slightly mad :D

When I'm drunk, I'm the complete opposite of me sober in terms of shyness. I meet loads of new people that way. When I am sober I am usually shy and modest. I will only talk to people I talk to regularly.

I seem to be very weird. In nursery I didn't speak at all. And I really mean that. Apparently I spoke once to get someone into trouble :S.

Anyhow, on Friday the 2nd July 2010 I went to my College Induction day, I was dreading it, as I don't have many friends because of being shy and I was thinking there would be no one in my class from my school. Luckily there was 1, who I spoke to a little bit in Art in my GCSE years. However, soon, she took off with these two girls and I was quiet like a mouse and didn't know what to do. However, we went for our photos took and this girl started talking to me. And I suprised myself at how much I spoke to her, me, Emma and her friend seemed to bond straight away, and the scrainess seemed to drain from me.

So basically I was shy in nursery, not shy in junior school, shy in high school an maybe I won't be shy in college. :)
