I was hooked on robo defense for Android, I'd really like to play a similar game on my PC which wont hurt my eyes!

The only good one I can think of is the flash one called http://www.kongregate.com/games/gameinabottle/gemcraft. It's not like that screenshot, it's more like wizard-y and stuff. It's kinda hard to explain, but I found it stupidly addictive

Totally agree here, but I prefer the 2nd version (it's called Chapter 0, but it IS newer): http://armorgames.com/play/3527/gemcraft-chapter-0

Also Antbuster is very addictive, and it's a slightly unique tower defence game: http://www.rstein.org/antbuster/

Ah yeah I've played the second one and I'm not a huge fan. It's cool that they've added tons of new stuff, but idk, just doesn't have the same feel as the first game
