New car?

Right I am looking for a new car... dont want anything too powerful because insurance is bad because I have points... But I want something I know I can just drop down gear and over take the ruddy tractors that ALLWAYS pull out on me for some reason. I am looking for a 1.4 or 1.6.... I was looking at a 09 Astra that I might be getting or a Fiesta ST.

Any suggestions? Budget is 10K

Mazda 2 1.5 Sport :) or you can get a 1.6 Sport diesel instead. Both of them are within your price range and they are less than 6 months old :)

Focus Zetec 1.8 diesel. True wolf in sheep's clothing, looks like stock but it goes like stink. Parts readily available, millions of them for sale, diesel economy. Win!

ideally you want something diesel if you're going for motorway miles, last for ever, cost nout to run and they're torquey as flip..

i've got a 1900 bora which is awesome, i'm not blowing my own trumpet but it's the pd130 derv mapped to 175bhp-ish, gets about 55-60mpg when driving on the motorways at 80 ish, performs well at low speeds with the power and torque there to back you up..
