Heyy, :)
www.quotesgenerator.com
A quick little project to be honest, going to play with Javascript as oppose to PHP but.. it's up and running now :)
How can I improve, I know the designs terrible, I just wanted something that was quite simplistic!

I dunno, maybe a picture of the person whom quoted it...
I don't fancy going through over 5,000 authors ;)

I don't think theres any need for pictures as its the quotes we should be interested in but the site looks cute, and a great selection, well done.
Really good, how many quotes actually are there?
I'll be searching through this for like the next week LOLOL

According to the thing on the top, theres 17,000 I think.
A good selection, too.
That looks really good. It's good to have a simple design. Perhaps also have a separate search function?
I'm developing the search function now aha :) I was going to list authors but theres more than 5k of those :|
I may do like popular authors down the side.. Hitler and crap :)
Thanks for the comments guys!
Also maybe do a category system. Perhaps random generated quotes according to a category you select... quotes on life, death, philosophy etc etc.
Yh, problem is... The only thing stored in the database is like Quote and Author soo doing that would mean having to put all 17,000 into a category! :P
or just hoping a lot of them have the word Death, Life in them etc :P

Create a basic list of categories, add a link under the quotes that need categorising that lets the user choose where to put it.
It's a slightly flawed idea, but it saves you having to do all 17,000 by yourself :)

If you'd like to make it a little more JavaScript oriented you could always do a PHP backend, with javascript JSON calles using JQuery :)
I've always struggled with Javascript tbf, but it's always been an aim to make it more user friendly aha, I'll look into it!

Very nice Callum :P It does what it says and although the layout is basic, it looks great imo :)
