Not sure it was a free kick in the first place that lead to the goal, but still... it's a shame referees can't award penalty goals because by using blatent, unsporting behaviour Suarez saved his team's ass.

gyan is still a legend.

At the end of the day, Suarez did what everyone would have done. He wasn't going to just let it go in was he? If he didn't handball it, everyone would have asked why.

It wasn't a free kick anyway.

And Gyan is the one to blame, not Suarez.

One 2 July 2010, during a quarter-final match against Ghana, Suarez was red-carded after committing a handball which denied Ghana a guaranteed last-minute goal. The resulting penalty was botched by Asamoah Gyan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asamoah_Gyan).
He's a beautiful, beautiful *******.

Suarez could've headed that easily, that's the horrible part.

My point is that it's a shame referees can't award penalty goals because that was going in, but unsporting behaviour worked to Uruguay's advantage, which shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Yeah I agree with that. It's extreamly unfair but it's the rules I guess, and Suarez isn't the one to blame. As for him heading it, there was a risk he could have headed it straight into the goal because his head was on the line/behind the line so his hands were the safest option.

Exactly anyone who says that Ghana should have won the game before penalties is silly, there should of not even been a free kick in the first place. Ghana played well, well done to them but Urgauy also played well and they didnt deserve to lose in the last minute so well done to them

Doesn't matter whether the free kick was justified or not.

I joked before the game that Ghana would get a penalty to win it (because of how their group games went) but didn't think they'd actually get the opportunity haha, shame they didn't make it in the end what a team they've been

Suarez is my hero. I'd do it 10 times over, without hesitation.
