A few years ago, my half sister, who's quite close to my dads side of the family got me a Christmas present, that was a pirate dvd. My mum was absolutely fuming and posted it through her letter box.

Ever since, the rest of the family haven't bothered with us at all. So I'm guessing that she's told them something else.

Well, I found my cousins on facebook - do you think I should expose her to the rest of the family? =]

LOLJack you crack me up like an Easter Egg on Christmas day!

Ermmm... If you are still mad at her, then expose her, especially if she did it deliberately and didn't care about you...But if she did care about uoi and it was a one-off, then no. :)

Sameer!

Maybe because it's Christmas and if she really cared she wouldn't get some last-minute crap present?
She probably got alot of good presents, and if she can only give back a few pirated DVDs, then she's not really that nice...

She has 3 kids, my mum spent £60 on them. Then I get a £5 pirate DVD for Christmas? Would your mum be happy?

I am still mad at her. Because of her, I don't speak to 5 of my cousins and I rarely even see my grandma.

I don't understand why people hold grudges over silly little things such as this. Anything can happen over night.

Modesty is the best policy. Keep your mouth shut and dont do anything. People will have a lot more respect for you in life if you do that.

It's about neither, it's about family..

If it was something else, I would understand. But since she pretty much cost me my half of my family.

Why not? I haven't spoken to any of them for years and I haven't done anything wrong at all.

I'm not just going to and tell them what she did, I'm going to ask that why they just cut off all contact and then tell them my side of the story :)

Your family who you don't have contact with could have easily picked up the phone, found you on Facebook and at least made an effort.
A pirated DVD is nothing compared to some gifts she would have received at Christmas, at least your mum spent quite a bit of money on them, but she has it thrown back in her face with a tatty gift that is hardly fair.

But, yes it is about giving not receiving but, that giving cost you half of your family, this could have caused you stress and you may not have been able to control your actions. Do what you wish, it may not make contact again but it will let out some of your anger.
