I think it depends what you get, sometimes you can get something thats British/English and edible (a warm English breakfast for example) and other times you get the dodgy continental stuff such as cold fish that I got given once. :P

I've never eaten Aeroplane food, I've only flown several times and never for a long flight.

I suppose I can put up with plane food. Some dishes taste quite nice where others are simply disgusting. This thread reminds me of the complaint to Richard Branson (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/4344890/Virgin-the-worlds-best-passenger-complaint-letter.html) actually :P

While on this note, I might as well post photographs of the food we had in Delta business class last August (and will be eating this coming August) :P It was restaurant quality.

Surely it depends on a) The airline you with b) The class you're in :S

I've had some pretty decent meals on planes before with certain carriers.

Depends what it is. I always fly out in the morning therefore get a breakfast which I usually like. That doesn't mean it's worth the money, though!!

I haven't been on long haul flights so really have a sandwich (which are pretty decent to be fair), Pringles and a Galaxy muffin :P

Woah never knew business class was that good!

Aeroplane food isn't all the same. It depends who you fly with and what class you go in. We usually fly with british airways/first choice/thomsan local usually in 2nd or sometimes 1st class and there is nothing wrong with the food whatsoever, I love it on long flights when I wake up and see a full english breakfast in front of me. If someone says they had plane food and it was disgusting, ask them who they flew with and chances are it was a low budget airline.
