Okay for some reason latley users of my website have been unable to sign up with MSN accounts e.g. Hotmail, MSN, Live etc. They can sign up, but never get the activation emails. Members using these accounts already (e.g. before the blacklisting) now don't recieve email notificians when they have asked for them e.g. New Personal Message (PM) arrives.
I spoke online a few days ago to my hosts technical support, and they reccomended setting up an SPF record. We already had one but it was a bit different to the one we where using so I removed it and replaced it and gave it over 42 hours, around 3 days actually to update with no luck.
So I went back and spoke to the technical support, it was the same guy. He told me because the SPF record didn't work the only way was to upgrade to either a Dedicated IP or a Dedicated Hosting package.
Now someone told me they should be able to find out what site is causing the spam. The problem is I'm on a shared hosting package, so its quite possible and looks like, another customer is using the service for spaming. Now financially with a holiday upcoming and a lot of bills to pay, I can't afford to upgrade, but the problem is should I? It seems really bad that because of another customer, I'm having to upgrade, surley you'd think there would be a way to prevent this.
I'm not really an expert on hosting though, so any help would be great. Thanks.
