I know habbox values has been around a long time now but if I'm honest its pointless having it now, everyone on habbo just go by the marketplace, its more accurate and habbox is extremely out of date. Imo the department should be closed. Lets be honest habbo have killed rare values the day they brought out the marketplace.

thoughts?

EDIT:
b4 ppl start hating on me im not blaming the rare values staff.

The marketplace price isn't a true reflection of the value. Since everyone is wanting to sell theirs more quickly than everyone else, they end up pushing the price right down, and then a few days later it reverts back to normal. Also I've sometimes seen the average price be ridiculously wrong (especially with super rares).

Therefore I think value sites still do play a key roll in displaying the general price which people are willing to pay.

I've also started to go by the marketplace now. Due to the so called "currency" changing from HCs to credits, I just can't be bothered with trading anymore. Everything was easy when it was 14 credits to the HC, now it just confuses me.

The values are accurate and only appear out of sync at the moment because the Credit values are moving all the time. I often check over the marketplace also (the graphs, not the 'average') to make sure Habbox stays in sync with the values on the hotel. To add to what the others have already stated, the marketplace average often is out of date (for example if people suddenly started paying 1200 C tonight for their Thrones, marketplace average would remain at 940 C odd for a few days) and even more so, supers/items which do not have any data on the marketplace are valued on Habbox. I understand a lot of people use marketplace for common items, but for rarer items Habbox is still used. It also serves as a handy list for most rares on the hotel.

To be honest, I have been using the MP values a lot recently.

To be honest, I have been using the MP values a lot recently.

I think as they are actual trades and show the supply and demand that this is very sensible.

It's also useful for the items that aren't on the marketplace at a certain time. So if someone needs to know a value, can't find it on the marketplace and if Habbox didn't have rare values, how would they know the value?

Plus like Dan said, prices of items can change over night and the marketplace can be very misleading. For example, the HC sofa, It is trading at 3C (and dropping) right this moment but yet the marketplace is showing you the HC average is 5C? This would mess up every price if you went by the MP, this would suggest the Throne should be work 190HC (950C/5C) whereas it should be around 300+HC.

Plus what harm are the values doing? The staff enjoy posting updates for the rare values 'Guide' and me and dan don't mind updating them. Rare values are what made Habbox and i think it would be like chopping both your arms off if Habbox got rid of values.
