500/503 Errors

Hi,

I'm noticing quite a lot of 500/503 HTTP errors coming from the forum.

Seems a bit weird?

Anybody else had them or is it just me :P

What times are you seeing this between? The server likes to start backing up in the early hours of the morning you see.

I get them and I Had one last night between 9-10. It was non stop a few nights ago tho. But that was early morning

9-10 yeah and it was probably about 2am ish for the other time.

It is quite annoying! Happened last night between idk 1 and half 1 then again between half 2 and 3

From my experience it always happens at like 1:15am ish and then again at 3:15am ish, but sometimes happens at other times during the day too occasionally. I understand the morning ones are something to do with the backup, but it only used to be the 3:15 one, so I don't know where this 1:15 one came from. xD

Yes, it's rather annoying, especially when you are in the middle of something and forget that the forum is going to die on you for like 10 minutes, but I guess there is a reason for it.

Yeah, it is usually around 10 mins aswell.

I get a 500 error for a couple of minutes then just before it is going to come back I get a 503 error. Then it comes back.

Also it may be worth mentioning that the error doesn't appear immediately, the page takes like 30 seconds+ to load.

I get around two or three of these every time I try to search for something. The search feature is just atrocious these days.

I've spoken to jin a while back about the search, next time I see him online I'll remind him.

I got loads of these earlier at around 2PM. Pages took ages to loads and than just got error message. It wasn't when i was searching either. I was just looking in staff forums and i kept getting them.

I'm guessing its something to do with server resources.

Are there any heavy crons at that time? The backup may use a lot of resources, so that ones explainable.

How much are you paying for your current server?

i get them like every day. got one earlier about 6ish

Get a copy of the Apache Error Logs see what's going down (literally) :)
