View Full Version : Summer jobs
I was hoping to do **** all this summer, but after realising that can get boring after a while (and my god ive got a month and a half left), and i was too short on cash to buy stuff (at all ;l), i was hoping for a summer job. I looked almost everywhere online and places either wanted me to be older (im 15, but have my National insurance number) or wanted me to be there for longer (i've only got until beginning of september).
So i was wondering ol' HxFers, any ideas?

look elsewhere & not just online and they probably want you to be 16 so wait till then
It's so hard to find a job over here. I hope you have better luck than I do!

Are you going to be saying that your whole life? You've gotta start somewhere. Just explain your position, tell them what you're looking for and see if they know of any available jobs. How hard can it be? Although you might even need to be 16 to even go searching for a job at the job centre. You might as well enjoy your youth while you can.

Apply to a few places for jobs.
To the places that say they're looking for permanent workers, say your interested in permanent work DO NOT say you just want work over the summer.
Play the game and go to work as usual asif you were a full time employee, when the summer ends - quit.
You'll get nowhere being all nice and honest if you need money, especially in the current time when getting a job is harder than ever.
i wouldn't discriminate against anything. i did when i was 16, and i never got a job up until 3 weeks ago (i'm 19 now). i'm working full time at mcdonalds this summer, and i've earned just under £250 in 2 weeks (;

What about just helping out some of your neighbors? I kinda doubt anyone will just hire you for a month and a half. Perhaps some people will be willing to pay you to do a few chores.

You could always try baby sitting although it depends on where you are as (if im aware ) if you look after children for more than a certain amount then you have to be registered or something & CRB checked lol.
Or you could try as mike said doing odd chores :) x
goodluck though im having the same problem :(
